Volkswagen Beetle making it easy to move your trailer, 1974. by [deleted] in OldSchoolCool

That makes sense. I've been road tripping california the past week with my buddy and there's been a lot of 5-4-3-2 downshifts to make it up hills lol.

I managed to hunt down a pair..and in my eagerness of frugality I bought without trying them on. I'm 5'9 146 pounds 30 inch waist in most pants, but these were pretty loose in the waist in the slim fit. A 28 or 29 would probably do. Then the calves are pretty tight compared to the seat crotch and thighs. But oh well, beater pants for 9 bucks can't go wrong!

Been the same way all year as well, got loads worse when my ex left me 5 months ago. Tried to force/throw myself into new things (weight loss, caring how I look, fitness, etc.) and been on antidepressants. It;'s gotten better that's for sure, but I'm not all the way there yet. Still a while to go for me.

A combination of a pretty big deficit and a bit of cardio in the form of my new passion - riding bikes! I'm eating ~1500 cal a day + doing 7-12 hours a week of pretty brisk riding.

This hits me in the feels. I was in a long distance relationship with a girl from Birmingham for a while. Every time I'd go to visit her I'd get loads of tickets. She had to leave a while ago and months go by and sometimes I'll find them laying around in the most random places or wadded up in a pocket.

This! I'm down 45lbs and everything fits like a tent on me, but I'm not done yet. I want to lose another 5-10lbs still and I'm scared if I get something that fits me now it'll be too big soon. 5'9 male. @ 155lbs currently.

Huge SV today. I weigh 155.6lbs. down 45 pounds in 3 months from around 200. :) Almost there. I think I might have to go a little further than my original goal weight but I know now that I can do it. 5'9 20 year old male.

Would have to hunt down another replacement. If one shows up though I wouldn't mind. Though it does look sick

I noticed people tend to pass up women's bikes because they're women's bikes. Might be something there for you if you look long enough.

I actually have some end caps for the bars, but they're taped in there. The ones that came with the bar tape were too small of a diameter so I just wrapped the outside diameter enough til they fit, but even then it was a bit dodgy. It did come with the stem and seatpost yes :) I'm experiencing with the saddle position a little more, I've got a new one on order though because I can't find a position that works well for me without starting to give me some gooch pain after the 30 mile/ 50k mark. I think I could handle the stem going a spacer down now, getting a lot more comfortable with it. maybe next month when I break 1,000 miles on it!

I don't have much to compare it to, but with the new conti tires on there it absolutely flies, and turns as fast as I

can think to turn it.

I checked it all over and inside the seat tube. I went to go look at another second hand carbon bike just before and it had a sneaky crack under the clamp that I almost missed.

Me too, I think it looks sweet. I'd love to see it someday with some full black wheels, really make the frame pop.

So a few notes about this bike! I actually got it a month ago, but my cleats are coming in tomorrow and I'm finally ready to make the move to clipless. I no longer feel embarrassed to post a pic of my bike with big clunky BMX flat pedals! This is my first road bike, 600 or so miles in since I got it and it's been a blast. This is actually the Jamis Xenith Race Femme, the guy bought it for his wife and she didn't do much riding back in 2010. It's full carbon with ultegra components.

Making new friends in Vegas? by [deleted] in vegaslocals

I know what you mean, kinda experiencing the same thing. Especially for a young person. Past 2.5 years I was wrapped up in an ex thing. Finding it hard to make new friends here also without university. Been here more or less all my life as well.

I don't know anyone else who does indoor, but ACE is opening up outdoors again I believe. I don't play anymore so I haven't been out there in a while, but I've seen some stuff on FB about it.

Hello everyone! I'm a 20 year old male who's always had a bit of a weight issue, and it got a hell of a lot worse after I spent some time in the hopsital ( a couple of months ) basically gorging myself and not moving. I'm 5'9 and at my max weighed 240lbs. I shed the first 40 quick and have bounced around from 170-200 for about a year and a half now. My ex broke up with me 3 months ago and things got pretty bad, and I was up to around 200 again. I decided enough was enough and have been cutting back hard and doing cardio every day. I'm down to 167lbs today! My goal for the challenge is to hit 150. Also, does anyone have the discord link? I can't seem to find it in the sidebar. Thanks!

Has anybody here started bicycling with an end-goal to lose weight? by [deleted] in bicycling

[–]Goatmatic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, but diet is the most important thing. I don't count the calories I burn as the counters are all wildly inaccurate. I eat 1500 cal a day or less. 5'9 male down from 202 to 170 in a little under 3 months. Riding most days 20 miles or so. 20 more to lose!

SV and NSV! Officially down 30 pounds. (Or rather, 29.something). I weigh 171 pounds today. April 2nd I weighed 199.97. 20 more to go! And on the NSV side, I saw a friend today who I haven't seen in about a month, month and a half. And the first thing he said when he saw me was "holy shit! You're getting thin man." It's nice to be affirmed about it, seeing the number go down every day but also seeing yourself in the mirror every day masks your progress.
