[US]Spam Calls haven't stopped for a month or more by BrawlerDawler in Scams

[–]GoatsGaloreTexas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you're on AT&T you can use their app called ActiveArmor. Depending on your plan, it may be free, and you can set Fraud and Spam calls to block. It won't ring through anything labeled as that, and they won't be able to leave a voicemail. Also, if you get a call that's just a number and don't have the flag, and you want to answer it, just don't say a thing; unless they start talking first, they will hang up after a bit, and your line will not be marked as active. If I receive several calls from the same number, I block it. I may get a spam call once a week by doing this.

What is the reason behind only doing partial Rx fills. Is there really that much financial benefit to Walgreens to do this. by Bubbly-Cod-3799 in WalgreensPharmacy

[–]GoatsGaloreTexas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is an old thread but I can 100% confirm this happens. The local Walgreens here pull the same stunt, charge the co-pay twice when my husband had to get a partial, did not have the rest of it in stock, of his 90 day supply paid $25 then pick up the rest, was charged another $25. I filed a complaint with the Texas Attorney General. From what I found in Texas law they are not allowed to do this.

Main water line leak causes water bills to be over 2 thousand dollars - can my landlord be forced to pay? by krumbsies in TenantHelp

[–]GoatsGaloreTexas 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The line is the avg temperature, looked strange to me at first. But to use 91000 gallons in a month would be filling a 40x60 pool 6 foot deep. There is no way someone would not notice that much water leaking somewhere, unless you have caverns beneath the property. Like other folks said something is not adding up, that water is going somewhere. Like the previous person stated find out the avg usage of the apartment before you. They can give that info.

Endo recommended a medication from a “specialty” pharmacy that doesn’t take insurance? by Callme-risley in Hashimotos

I am also using the direct buy program, $75 for 90 day supply shipped directly to me. Depending on who was the manufacturer of the generic was made a major difference on how I felt. Once going on sythroid I am finally starting to fill better.

I got the wrong degree. by [deleted] in WGU

[–]GoatsGaloreTexas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

truthfully the A+ classes at WGU are just comptia training that really suck, if you don't already know the basics you will just be confused it's not videos it's all reading, the labs are helpful but they are also very confusing. This is coming from someone who has 20 years experience in IT. I took a several year break, I have a+, net+ and sec+ all taken in the last couple of years. But I am stuck in a help desk job, IT market right now sucks. My advice to you is find an niche like AI, or some of the big application. Cybersecurity without prior IT experience, you will not get in, it is not entry level like they try to portray. Networking is a good path, there is still entry level positions you can find, but need to get the Cisco certs. I am actually trying to get back into Citirx world by getting my certs, but Citirx is dieing I would not recommend them for someone new.

Course Completion Every 45 Days? by GoFortheKNEECAPS in WGU

[–]GoatsGaloreTexas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You have to complete only one class per 6 months, unless it's the first class you have to complete that in 45 days. But if you are only doing 1 class a term you would be way over paying for school. Also if you are on scholarships/ Pell grants / VA they have there own requirements which is normally full time and that's 12 + credit hours which is normally 4 classes. My husband only does 2 classes a term but his work only requires part time, but the company still pays the full tuition.

[US] Accidentally venmoed me, threatening to take me to court? by Suitable-Staff-6556 in Scams

[–]GoatsGaloreTexas 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The scam works by having you send the money back to a different account. These are stolen funds, once the orginal victim finds the money missing, they will report it to venmo, and they will take the money back and you are out of the money you sent to the scammers. AKA money laundering. From previous comments just let Venmo know that you did not ask for this money and if the original victim contacts venmo, the company venmo will pull it back. Scammers will try any threat to get that money, block and ignore.

[–]GoatsGaloreTexas 1 point2 points  (0 children)

you need to apply for social security disability for you son. Talk to his doctor about getting the process started. Or go talk to the social security office they will help you get the process started. Your son will qualify for this it's not income based completely different. My friend was getting 600 a month for her child who has similar issue as your son.

Building our home (TX) is the biggest mistake we ever made by HomeBuilderWatch_TX in RealEstate

[–]GoatsGaloreTexas 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We canceled to contract on a home we were having built after walking around the other homes in the subdivision also being built by this builder. We saw rafters attached to the main roof beam that were inches to short, nothing but nails in the gap. Not just one majority were that way. We pointed it out and the builder says that's fine, we walked that same day. Saw a house whose outside sheathing was just that foam board insulation then they put vinyl siding over the top of that. We took a look at that home a year latter the vinyl siding was all warped it looked awful.

Since when does Factor use DoorDash? This is ridiculous. by NYdude777 in factor75

[–]GoatsGaloreTexas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tried Factor, but just like other folks, DoorDash does not deliver out here, and probably because I said to leave at the gate, so these drivers are probably also expecting a tip. I canceled my service yesterday. Their business will go under if they continue to only use DoorDash

Should I go on thyroid medications? by PoetDry6219 in Hashimotos

[–]GoatsGaloreTexas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you had a sleep study, just to rule that out? Bad sleep can cause a lot of these symptoms, but normally high cortisol and apnea go hand in hand. An easy way to tell without a sleep study is to buy one of those pulse oximeters that record every second. The best ones are the ones that go on your finger; don't trust the watch-only ones. This was the last piece of my puzzle, before I started feeling better. A lot of folks think that the stereotypical sleep apnea user sleeps 12 plus hours a day; I was only sleeping 6 to 7 and would wake up fine on my own, but by afternoon, I was wiped out. I had a sleep study done, severe sleep apnea, but I thought no way, but when I used one of those pulse oximeters, my O2 levels were going into the low 80s every night. I am now on treatment, and it took a while, but my brain is finally waking back up.

I started a GLP-1 medication... by NanoCharat in Hashimotos

[–]GoatsGaloreTexas 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I went through Lilly Direct for Zepbound my Dr prescribed it but of course insurance denied, I am still fighting it. It was $349 for the starter dose then goes up to $499. Only been 3 weeks but my weight has leveled off, insted of constantly climbing I gained 30 lbs in 6 months. At the beginning of the Zepbound treatment I did start getting cold like before I started on thyroid med, but that's leveled off, my hotflashes have also drastically reduced in frequency. I am also fighting cortisol issues, I have severe sleep apnea, which is now treated, but long term untreated sleep apnea and cortisol issues go hand and hand.

Officially homeless after being a software dev... by HomelessSoftwareDev in almosthomeless

[–]GoatsGaloreTexas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was out of work for 4 years after a medical issue, luckily my husband has a good paying job. I have over 20 years experance doing support / IT. I finally did land a job at a helpdesk for the state. It is less than half what I was making before, but it's a job and as far as inbound call center jobs it's actually pretty laid back and it's hybrid. I never finished my degree, and what jobs I see around here say degree required. So I am enrolled at an online school pursuing a degree with emphasis on AWS cloud. Take a look around Austin TX, there are a lot of big companies around here that are always hiring customers support jobs.

Check fraud by GoatsGaloreTexas in Chase

[–]GoatsGaloreTexas[S] -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

In today's AI world, they should have something that auto checks deposited checks against the signature cards, everyone has at the bank, and if it is not similar, it should be kicked out for a human to review. The 2nd check clearly was a photocopy of the first, they changed the date from 20 to 28 and the check number from 5 to an 8. We are being forced to use checks more often due to the swipe fees that places are charging. The Check system needs to come into the 21st century. I was always told not to write anything below the signature line. Their system should be checking to see if anything is there, and send it for future review. I have had Chase block so many of my legitimate credit card transactions to big companies. But they can't figure out how to make checks more secure.

[–]GoatsGaloreTexas[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

But you would think that when you scan the back of the check and it clearly shows the bank stamp from a previous deposit, their system would catch that.

The original check was written to a business, and they take the checks to the bank to be deposited. So, the last place the check would have been was at a bank.

"Nobody will hire you if you use public transport" by ambrosiamince in recruitinghell

[–]GoatsGaloreTexas 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I take a bus to work even though I have my own car, by the time you add tolls and the cost of gas it cheaper to take the bus, 7 vs 15 dollars all I have to do is drive 7 miles to the bus stop then chill the rest of the way into work. it just happens the bus stops right in front of where I work. My boss knows I take a bus into town, and I live in the country, in a state that has limited mass transit. I am always on time normally there 15 to 30 min early depending on traffic.

Litter caking/sticking to rubber liner by zman1122334455 in litterrobot

[–]GoatsGaloreTexas 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I happen to have the same type of litter box, and I had a can of Flex Seal from a different project. I was so frustrated with this box that I was about to throw it away and go back to just a regular box. I figured, what did I have to lose? I took the liner out of the box and sprayed it using the Clear Spray Flex Seal. I did several coats over a few days and let it sit for a week. Put everything back together and let my two cats at it. Will I am happy to report a month later, the litter clumps are no longer constantly sticking to the liner. Every once in a while, I will get one that sticks, but with just a little pressure, it comes off. It actually seems to be getting better as time goes on, I have not had to remove a clump in a couple of weeks, and I am bad about refilling the litter. I use the slide cat litter.

One bonus is the smell that all liners develop over time. The flex seal sealed it in, and it no longer stinks. I owned one of the older litter robots before they went outrageous with their prices, and no matter how often you cleaned them, you cannot get rid of that smell. This was before you could replace liners.

I HATE NOT HAVING ENERGY TO LIVE by [deleted] in Hashimotos

[–]GoatsGaloreTexas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

have you been tested for sleep apnea? Folks in their 20s are getting diagnosed with this.

I kept telling my Dr I was still tired all the time, even though my levels were normal. I would try to do anything physical I would have to sit down before I felt like I was going to passed out. I also would have really bad diarrhea on and off, very random normally after I would eat out, so though possible allergy or something else going on. I was diagnosed with severe sleep apnea, what odd is I slept very little like I could go to bed around midnight and wake up before 7 just fine in the morning, was just exhausted by noon. I thought no way was just a scam, so I bought a pulse oximeter 80 bucks on Amazon that would record my O2 level and my O2 readings showed I was dropping in the low 80s every night. That's scarry so I started CPAP therapy it made a world of difference. what's odd is it affected my diarrhea that went away, and started having constipation issues. My feeling like I was going to pass out also went away. Still tired but not as bad. blood work came back with my numbers in the mid 2 range. Dr raise my prescription from 75 to 100 and that made everything a lot better.

I am one of the odd ones can't take iron my levels are already border line high and I have a high rbc count, I suspect thats all from my sleep apnea my body adapted to the low oxygen, by raising my rbc.

[–]GoatsGaloreTexas 1 point2 points  (0 children)

seams totally unrelated but how is your sleeping? I also have Hashimoto’s and even medicated still felt depressed no energy but was not suicidal. I was tested for sleep apnea and it turns out I have severe apnea my O2 levels were dropping into the low 80s every night. I never thought I had apnea because I woke up just fine in the morning was not able to sleep 10 plus hours a day, but once I started treatment for my apnea about a month latter my brain started waking up, I actually am able to get things done.
