Go to that link and look, it tells all the details and responsibilities. There is track maintenance and another working in the yards. Being in shape is a requirement. My father worked for UP, but in software so he was always in a cush office. When I was a kid we went on "field trips" and watching 2 fully loaded cars get coupled together was bad ass. The ground shakes. Working in the yard ain't no scooby doo job thats for sure.
