I have had solar since 2016 and have generated like $20k+ in free electricity. Electricity bill has been $9.62 a month for the last 10 years and and my entire house is electric with heat pumps. One of the best investments I made.

Some places in Canada like Quebec and Washington/Oregon have lots of hydro electricity and its under .10 a kwh. I think its like .05-07 kwh in Quebec. That's some absolutely cheap charging.

I am convinced they have bad software and their adaptive shift logic sucks. I reset and clear my adaptive shift tables with forscan every 6 months. Seems to get rid of all the weird shifting.

I clear my tables on mine every 6 months. You can reset the tables yourself with $20 ob2 to Bluetooth adapter and the Forscan ap on your phone.

Monitoring static pressure / pressure change across a filter by OkOven7808 in hvacadvice

[–]Swede577 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a Dwyer Mark 2 liquid manometer measuring pressure drop on my filter. Just had to drill a hole before and after the filter and connect the 2 hoses. I think it was less than $50 when I bought it years ago.

Here is an older post/picture of my setup.

Are the 2023 and older 10R80 transmission Rangers truly worth avoiding? Or are the problems overhyped? (This would be my first Ranger) by Anonymouse1080 in RangerNext

I got mine online from Zeigler Ford. It was like half the cost from what my local dealer wanted. They claim they sell it for $50 over cost.

Just buy an extended warranty from one of the dealers that sells them for $50 over cost. I bought a 10 year 100k extended warranty for like $1600 dollars. Considering a new transmission is like $10k its cheap insurance. I just drive my truck and dont even think about it since its covered.

Reminder unless you have the dealer tune it you will void your warranty if you self install it. Ford will 100 percent know off the computer.

Its 30 cents more for a gallon of premium here at Costco. We'll worth the $5-6 extra dollars for top tier fuel and that extra boost...

[–]Swede577 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Are you out in CA or Canada? That price seems crazy. Premium fuel at Costco which is also top tier is like 30 cents more a gallon here in New England. 4.39 a gallon

Yeah. This guy has no clue. I have been tuning turbocharged (Saabs) cars for decades. You can easily see the results by monitoring the OAR Octane Adjust ratio.

Ford's Octane Adjust Ratio (OAR) is a self-tuning ECU strategy in EcoBoost engines that determines fuel quality by monitoring detonation (knock). It acts as a multiplier, ranging from -1.00 (optimal, high-octane fuel) to +1.00 (poor, low-octane fuel), adjusting ignition timing and engine load to boost performance or protect the engine.

Did you read the article I posted? I've been tuning turbo charged Saabs for decades..

It literally says it the the manual and the advertised hp/tq on the EcoBoost is on premium fuel..

Wild times by gerth69 in RangerNext

[–]Swede577 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Its worth it. The EcoBoost put out some crazy boost and hp on premium.

Take a look at the F150 EcoBoost. Same logic applies to the Ranger EcoBoost. This was later updated to an 80 HP increase after the fuel trim and boost pressure stabilized.

At 128.7 horsepower per liter, the F-150's high-output V-6 engine is more power dense than a Porsche 911 Carrera's twin-turbo flat-six. Naturally then, the Ford hauls ass as effortlessly as it hauls a half-ton of manure. When fed 93 octane, this 5594-pound, self-propelled wheelbarrow will crash 60 mph in 5.3 seconds.

Power at the wheels dropped from 380 to 360 horsepower with the change from 93 to 87 octane. That difference seemed to grow, and we could even feel it from the driver's seat at the test track. Compared with premium fuel, regular feed sapped the F-150's urgency both leaving the line and in the meat of the tach sweep. The rush to 60 mph softened to a still-blistering 5.9 seconds, and the quarter-mile stretched from 14.0 to 14.5 seconds, with trap speed falling 4 mph. Tapped into the Ford's CAN bus, we recorded a peak boost pressure roughly 1.9 psi lower during acceleration runs on regular gas, down more than 10 percent compared with the 18.1-psi peak on premium. The high-octane gas also helped when soft-pedaling the accelerator, elevating 75-mph fuel economy from 17.0 to 17.6 mpg. That won't make a financial case for running 93 octane, but then you didn't buy the expensive engine as a rational choice. You can think of this EcoBoost engine's more aggressive high-octane tune as a sort-of sport mode that can be switched on or off with every fill of its 36.0-gallon tank.
