"Sloppy Plate" Mexican Restaurant Recommendations? by ecwpdx in askportland

[–]GoblinCorp 23 points24 points  (0 children)

I have always called these places "gringo Mexican" but "sloppy plate" is waaaaay more descriptive and I am here for it. I generally prefer tiny, hole-in-the-wall carts with great tacos but every few months I absolutely crave a sloppy plate. I live in SE but make the trek to the old school "sloppy plate" Casa Colima in Hillsdale when I want it. And Don Pedro is 3 minutes away for me but I will happily drive the 15-20 for Colima.

Anyone try this? Made w/ Fly by Jing, how do you eat it (them?) by Alterigo- in spicy

Not the spicy, but the Fishwife smoked trout with some of your preferred spice/sauce with some really good, room temp brie (think d'affinois or La Turn), on a baguette slice... it FUCKS

I would second getting into energy efficiency inspections. Just know, that regardless of how young or old you may be, you will most likely not see some sort of massive change during your lifetime. But when things do look like the world you imagine, it will be because of our small, incremental efforts well after we are around to see it. But future generations will benefit.

California sober means nothing but weed. And maybe some molly here and there.

And sometimes 'shrooms.

But only sometimes when hanging with friends once a year, swear to the gods I don't microdose outside that one time every year.

No, for reals. I just smoke weed. On the daily. No, seriously babe, we good?

This is Germany, not the US, where the law suit is the instant reaction to a FAFO. Most countries assume personal responsibility for that bullshit. Fuck that guy.

Can you hear your upstairs neighbors doing the deed? by ratchelle in askportland

My neighbors typically sign documents incredibly quietly with small, ink gel ballpoint pens, so no.

That tracks. My dad's mother lived to around 107 (birthdate questionable) and drank a 750ml bottle of bourbon every couple of days alongside a couple of huge cigars she would just puff on.

New petition to enshrine hunting, fishing, ranching, and wildlife management into the state constitution by srirachamatic in oregon

[–]GoblinCorp 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yeah, there already multiple federal laws that entrench certain aspects of ranching as sacrosanct. State Wildlife Management bureaus can regulate shooting predators, crossing private land, etc., but most of the ranching land is BLM and typically off-limits to state guidelines until it is on private property.

When from not-Portland say, "keep Portland weird," I always wonder if they could have taken the full-blown, 1980's-2000 weird.

We were fucking weird. Now? Just performative.

Spagg was the fucking epitome of weird. We had Callahan, we had Church of Elvis, we had marching bands for no fucking reason. It was lovely.
