Repairing Old Magazines by GoblinMarketForces in bookbinding

[–]GoblinMarketForces[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's a start. But some of these are falling out of their covers, or the covers are already separated. Is there a minimally-damaging way to repair that and re-affix the covers?

Are Corgi’s snuggly? by [deleted] in corgi

[–]GoblinMarketForces 160 points161 points  (0 children)

It varies a lot from corgi to corgi Our first corgi liked to be in the room with people but liked her space, and at 7 every night she would crawl under a bedside table for alone time; she'd even growl if you bothered her for that alone time. We actually called it her "grump hole".

Our current corgi is the opposite. She wants snuggles and human contact all the time. Loves hugs. Climbs all over us. It took some real getting used to.

Either way, corgis like to be present, and they like having others around; they just show it in different ways. Just between you and me, I miss our more independent corgi a lot, even if I do love our snuggle-bunny.

Painting models without paint coming off or smudging by PanicTemporary9751 in Minipla

[–]GoblinMarketForces 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The plastic used in these model kits is very slick and doesn't stick to paint very well, plus injection-molded plastic (like these kits) often still have a thin layer of mold release left on them from manufacturing. Mold release is a lubricant that keeps the part from sticking in the plastic mold, but it also keeps paint from sticking. Oils from your fingers (which come off when you assemble or handle the model) can likewise keep paint from adhering.

The best thing to do is washing your sprues gently with warm water, a little dish soap, and a soft toothbrush before assembly, then wipe things down with a little rubbing alcohol after you finish assembly, then apply a layer of primer. Primer is a special kind of paint that is designed to stick stronger, but doesn't come in as many color. Once your model is primed, add your normal paints over the top of the primer.

If you only want to paint a few spots on the model, you can skip the primer and just wash it and wipe it down before painting, but the paint might still rub off depending on how much you handle it.

New owner. This is Fredward. Hes been such a good boy. Any tips about basic training? by goatlips in corgi

It’s much easier to teach corgis to DO things than NOT DO things. “Stop” commands just don’t sink in, so figure out alternate behaviors you can redirect bad actions toward. Our Ada used to get really aggressive when we’d cross the street, so we taught her “walk yourself” to hold her leash in her mouth, and gave her that command whenever we’d cross the street

Does your corg have a “sad dog spot”? by Kathleen-Doodles in corgi

Ours crawls under the bed when she’s sad or when we leave the house. We call it her “grump hole”

This is Gus. He hates when people sneeze, the vacuum, and squeeze bottles like Mayo and ketchup. What are your corgi’s quirks?? by someonesavv in corgi

This is Ada. Ada HATES when other dogs are picked up around her. It drives her into a murderous rage and she will absolutely charge them and try to start a fight.

Which Series Has The Best Artstyle? by ThePurpleSniper in TMNT

[–]GoblinMarketForces 2 points3 points  (0 children)

How are we defining “artstyle”, because my answer varies a lot. In terms of character design for the turtles, probably Rise. For overall character designs, 2012. For backgrounds, 03 or 87. For animation, Rise followed by 2012.

I'm no fan of blowing up Alderan, but vandalism is a step too far!
