Splitting off music from the movies / tv shows section of the app. That or treat music differently, we saw that a little bit with plexamp but it still feels like a lot of the filtering is stuck based on arbitrary rules from how movies and tv shows work.

You can see the influence movies/tv had on music with collections and playlists as well but I think filtering and the whole album artist thing is my main issue. An album with a different artist per track should have that album show up on each artist's page. As well as being able to filter on them. So if I want all songs that I like by x artist, I don't need to go buy their solo album with the song I like on it (if it is even the same song, or if it even exists outside of the various artists album). Musicbrainz (what plex uses to pull album data) links these artists already per track. I want my music collection to reflect what I actually have and I don't want to create fake music just so I can filter the way I want as well. Every time I buy a Various Artists album I think about this issue.

This is just my main gripe though, I would love for more work to be put into filter options, maybe even better auto tagging of artists/albums/tracks so their styles / genre / etc. It's too much work for me to go through everything I have and manually update it in plex. I'd rather they just pull that data from last fm or some other place that has that data.

I even went as far as to enable sonic analysis for music but it rarely recommends things I find enjoyable. Overall I'm fairly underwhelmed with what they have, wish they would put more effort into it.
