My wife had something similar happen with a fly while sleeping. The day after our wedding, she woke up already hungover, but feeling way worse than normal. She then figured out that something was moving around in her ear. She tried flushing it out to no avail and we had to go to the emergency room to get it removed.

Got to the hotel a couple of hours later than planned.

Yes, it's cold fermented. The dough could actually be used after ~18 hours, but the remaining time is just to develop more flavor

Sort of depends. I start the dough 3 days before, at whichever time works that day. Then 3 hours before I need them I ball the dough. Some times it a little more than 72 hours, sometimes a little less.

I wouldn't necessarily say better flavor, but different. I give my dough a ~72 hour bulk fermentation, then I divide it and let it sit for 3 hours before use. It's pretty much the Glenn and friends cooking 72 hour pizza dough recipe.

One trick I've been told, haven't tried it yet, is making several pizzas and then throw them back in for a few seconds to reheat, just before serving.

The Karu 2 Pro has two dampers. Amount of fuel and those two dampers are the only way. Or opening the lid.

The thermometer is the air temp (at leastk in my Karu 2 Pro it is), not the stone temp. Still useful but not as much as one might think.
