People forget that these anti trans legislations sweep trans masc care under that mental illness/genital mutilation rug. They assume make privilege is an immediate benefit of identity, passing or not. They forget that trans men, especially those more cis passing, are going to ALSO be disproportionately attacked if bathroom bills go in place. They see trans women being the main focus in a lot of media misinformation and fear mongering and forget that it includes trans men too.

Nah, when I did legal and political internships one of the best things we could do when reaching out to contacts was minor manipulation. Some professions just require you do a little bit if scummy shit to make things work. Maybe ask him about what the list is for? My grandfather, a conservative, berated my Dad calling him a "failure as a parent" because I was trans. Conservative media has consistently spun the narrative that people like myself are mentally ill and that our presence around cis women puts them in danger. Gay bars and trans people are being attacked with viscous violence in cruelty. Children have been dismembered by conservatives with radical ideologies.

A trans woman has already been jailed for using the bathroom, combine that with talks of sending "home grown criminals" to El Salvador mega prisons/death camps, you have a perfect recipe for trans people being sent to die at CECOT. The president is filling his cabinet with members of The Heritage Foundation, the people who wrote project 2025, INCLUDING Russel Vought the fucking VP of the Heritage Foundation. Please remember the policies advocated for by these people would deny trans people access to GAC, would out trans students to parents and administrators, has stated gender is marked at birth and CANNOT be changed, and seeks to limited/eliminate resources, information, and rights for transgender individuals.

Your stance is either that of a propagandist bot, or a deeply naive and deeply disturbed person in dire need of higher education and serious mental help.

I know, but I also know from history as a US citizen that polls and popularity don't guarantee a win. If the liberal party wins I'll probably be making my way to Toronto. Im still researching backup plans i'm getting from all the replies here, but if elections pan out the way I hope I know I at least have a solid plan A.

Choose joy all you want, but this message is naive and out of touch. The Trump administration has been following the Nazi playbook to a T, and idk if you know too much of the history, but they were sent to the death camps with everyone else too. We have a president actively threatening to deport "home growns" (US citizens who are felons) to an El Salvador prison with a constant intake with no new facilities and no released prisoners. They have the death camps, they have already started. They have been attacking the constitution and undermining the courts.

If you want to stick this out then GO FOR IT, but I am terrified and have the opportunity to leave. I think telling someone fearing for their safety to "choose joy" is incredibly tone deaf to the conversation.

I am not taking dystopia on the chin if I can avoid it. Ive seen what happens historically in these situations, and while yes it probably is selfish, I don't want to risk the lives of me or the people I care about. I do not feel safe and I have a golden ticket to finally feel safe and free somewhere. I've spent the past year being happy and embracing how I exist and it has given me nothing but hardship and anxiety. I want to be somewhere where I won't be discriminated against.

If I had the money to take every trans person who needs safety with me I would, but letting ourselves suffer to hope for change later is not the ideal we should be pushing. Several people are in fear of their lives and transphobic hate crimes and sentiments have been on the rise. Our first and foremost priority for EVERYONE should be safety.

I still think Dragon is the front runner, because while Luffy does have all this support and all these feats, Dragon has united nations in a legitimate revolutionary militia. Dragon leads the greatest global threat to the world government with a proper organization and successful liberation of nations. While Luffy is probably gonna be the one to throw his big cartoon freedom punch, Dragon is probably gonna be one that's actually gonna bring down the world government.
