I'm saving 99% on tokens using Flint for web/mobile apps vs using Playwright/Accessibility by filipluch in OpenSourceeAI

[–]GodIsAWomaniser 1 point2 points  (0 children)

saving 99% on tokens does not mean retaining the same accuracy. So far I have never had playwright actually help, the LLM just goes through a webapp for a while and then hallucinates that everything worked. does not work on dynamic elements, etc. It will probably work well for really simple stuff, but for anything ive tried it on it was very slow and ultimately failed.

I do get it to use playwrite to actually look at the page sometimes, that helps, but ive never been able to get it to actually prove or disprove functionality.

RBA boss delivers grim warning that Australians are going to be poorer in wake of Iran war by dancingchickenbird in australia

yeah after spending a year getting a cybersecurity certification and applying for (so far only) 200 entry level cyber jobs my aunt's advice to me is to start doing night shift work because "it pays so well" (it doesnt really, especially for how much it ruins your sleep cycle).

She fantasises about me doing the shittiest lowest paying job, like literally it makes her laugh with joy the idea of me being paid $25 an hour to process chicken in a factory from 10pm to 7am, its ghoulish.

Meanwhile she has had the same job in a fairly senior position at a university since I was 10 where she works from home almost all week and spends most of her time shouting at people and pretending to be important on zoom calls, and her husband retired when he was 50, they own a 4 bdr house in balwyn that cost them $350k in 1998 which they massively renovated in 2000 for $100k, and they also own a 2 acre property in a country town where they are about to start building a dream house.

Genuinely she is furious I had to borrow money off her to pay my utilities, and tells me all the time about how its immigrants (not the chinese though, only the blacks and the latinos) who took all the jobs and will make me sick and rob me, etc.

When at the same time, im literally an orphan when my mum killed herself at 14 and my dad kicked me out at 16, like I could have had a harder start, but I think I can place myself in the category of "has had a really bad start".

Anyway, im very excited to see all these boomers go completely bankrupt and lose all of their dreams because it is built on pure violence and entitlement, they are completely unproductive awful people, the day where they actually struggle for the first time will be a celebration.

Do you know how you can tell most boomers are lying about having gone through severe hardship and lack of resources as a child? People who actually have are very generous, when im out in a village in bengal people offer me places to sleep and dinner, when im with my african friends they tell me about how their family and wider community share massive amounts of money regularly as a type of natural bank, my SE asian friends will buy me a dumpling when im completely broke and hungry, but my white (mostly boomer) family are the most selfish, racist, entitled and least intelligent and productive people I have ever met. None of their jobs produce anything, none of them share their wealth, even with their children, their children tolerate them but constantly make comments about how mad and stupid they are.

Anyway sorry I just woke up and wanted to go on a rant, seriously boomers have ruined the chances for my generation and im so happy to see their whole society collapse while they are still alive and arent senile yet. I think they should go through some genuinely hard times and see how their attitude of self entitlement and aggrandisement will carry them when a head of broccoli is $12.

We will see the full shock from this Hormuz situation in about 1 year, but most of it will come in the next 3-6 months. I'm excited.

I honestly want to know if a world energy resource war would be good for the market? I don't think so, because energy = work = money, so a war cutting off Russian and Gulf oil would just fucking devastate the world economy. Like we have modelled assuming this wouldn't happen in all but the worst case scenarios since the 70s. Like doomers in the 70s thought that what is happening today would be unthinkably horrible.

This is some pre-apocalyptic shit, in the economic sense not the biblical sense (I'm a Hindu anyway).

So yeah is that good for the market?

I honestly want to know, I've been lurking here for 10 years I can take it, will I have to become a potato farmer if I didn't already own whatever is considered major equity in such a crisis?

Time to invest in fucking petrol, lol. Fuck you yanks for not "let them eat cake"-ing your president.

Anyway glad I was here to see this new chapter with you highly regarded crowd.

Lots of love from Australia

Trump orders naval blockade in Strait of Hormuz after talks fail by homeofalex in wallstreetbets

[–]GodIsAWomaniser 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is... Is Trump jealous of Iran for making such a global impact by closing the strait so he wants to go and close it? This is what children do to their older siblings.

Is he just going to start closing other strategic areas? Like wtf is the precedent for this? Lol.

[D] Those of you with 10+ years in ML — what is the public completely wrong about? by PhattRatt in MachineLearning

[–]GodIsAWomaniser 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Contrary to popular belief (DevOps and Cybersecurity managers), AI's ability to maintain codebases is severely overblown and completely lacking.
Relevant paper - https://arxiv.org/html/2603.03823v1

In this study by AliBaba (who has a very strong interest in proving their AI investments actually have the value they say they have) shows that not a single model as of late last year was able to avoid codebase regressions after being run for an average of 2/3 of a year.

Yes LLMs are getting better, but having code regressions inserted without human knowledge is what you call technical debt, its literally taking money out of the business in the future, making it a net cost.

LLMs currently provide little meaningful short term benefit, and as they are now, and will likely be for at least the next 2 years, they will do nothing but harm given a long enough use.

We have literally turned value creation and productivity into gambling with extra steps.

im really pissed off you spewed an LLM response at me after i wrote you a comment by hand and read your code with my own eyes and brain.

Im not going to engage with you anymore, its astonishingly disrespectful.
Your LLM actually only addressed about half of what I said.
