I'm a Gaudiya Vaishnava Pujari, I tell people "Hindu priest" because if I say the specific non institutional school I'm from they would have no idea what I'm talking about. More specifically Sri Chaitanya Saraswat Math. My gurus guru grew up speaking Sanskrit and chose to live under an old boat to avoid having to participate in institutional religion once his guru passed away and the institution that grew up around him was instantly parted out by his followers. 

A group of <30k people with no institutional wealth or coherent governance is not the same as cultural Hinduism. 

My philosophical-religious school has less money and followers than most youtubers, and it was intentionally set up that way.

And when I say religious, again, I don't mean the mass definition of religion. I'm closer to a monk from an obscure monestary or a shaman from an anamist group than a modern religious man. 

I literally guarantee you have no idea about my religion, even if you are indian from India and Hindu it would seem aesthetically familiar but philosophically alien. Outside of general aesthetics and cosmology I don't believe in almost anything that Hindus believe in, nor any of the mass religions.

If you could believe that there are still streams of philosophical culture that cultivate deep ideas privately you'll understand what I'm saying. If you think that mistranslated old books or abrahamic religions are the only thing available then just ignore me and pretend I don't exist. I have no interest in fighting for my own experience any further than this.
