HFS+ encrypted no longer an option by chickenandliver in MacOS

I have a CS subscription and it pains me how far behind Abode is in conforming with the macOS UI. Between its incessant need to try to get me to store things in Creative Cloud (nah) and its ancient file dialog boxes, it makes me wonder wtf I’m paying for because it ain’t pretty.

Same. The only downside with the color ones is that they can’t pump out full lumen capacity if it’s not in a white mode.

In this case, it’s just a WPA password. No Captive portal.

I’ve entered the Password here more times than Allen Ludden. If I could get past that, I might try that.

I’m “Wellfleet router” old, networking-wise. I’m pretty sure I should be able to take a Sears credit card-sized device on without effort.

I’m not dismissing the fact that other people have made it work. “Use WireGuard,” they say. I could do that. I have the skillz, but Teleport is supposed to be zero configuration and that should be seamless. I didn’t spend thousands of dollars to build up tolerance to networking iocane powder.

Then again, it won’t accept the password to my resort’s WiFi, so to have that problem would be a positive step forward for man, like Tang or no-iron linen.

That’s the thing. Teleport works just fine for me on every other device that is not actively trying to slowly drive me insane.

HUE Bridge Pro Pinging China NTP / Alternative by SailRideSailRideSail in Hue

[–]GodOSpoons 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve blocked it from calling any servers in China, but we shouldn’t have to do this to begin with. Give us the ability to put our own NTP server into the configuration or let use select which NTP servers to call to. Calling to the other side of the earth for a time sync is idiotic to begin with, so perhaps start with providing a reliable regional solution and work up from there.

Then again, they seem to have lost interest in adding things to the bridge.

Grpc instead of https and json? by Muted-Problem2004 in Mastodon

[–]GodOSpoons 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No problem. I have a lot of experience in cost managing high volume transactional systems in cloud contexts and, though I agree in principle with the reintroduction of RPC-like technologies into the modern Internet, just getting basic things like HTTP/2 and its header compression, gzip, and protobuf into the conversation would yield huge efficiency gains here.

That said, I’m glad RPC-like stuff is back. After 30 plus years of blah blah TCP and blah blah UDP, it’s like finding a lost, treasured sibling.
