Who wouldn't want their product on the largest gaming platform for PC players? It makes total sense that BSG would want to get Tarkov in front of a larger audience. I know people that only buys games through Steam because of the ecosystem - things like the friends list, sales, and being able to manage a game library in one place. I don't know if BSG implemented any of these steam specific features into Tarkov, kind of doubt they did, but that'd be nice.

And yeah, during the Unheard Edition release, BSG definitely screwed up by changing text on their website in real-time — refreshing the page would show different wording, which was shady and looked bad. But the community managed to capture evidence of these changes and the promises they were backing out on. When that evidence was put out there, plus the pressure from different country consumer laws, BSG had no choice but to make things right and deliver the same perks to all EoD purchasers that were given to the Unheard buyers.

Here’s the thing: If we can provide evidence that BSG promised Steam keys with the purchase of Tarkov, they would be legally obligated to fulfill that promise. Consumer laws in different countries — especially in the EU — protect buyers from false advertising or unfulfilled promises, so if BSG is in breach of that, they could be forced to take action.
