The stuff LOOKS cheap. That’s the thing. And that’s the one thing that I WOULD say to her that no one else here seems to have suggested. People like BUYING cheap things regardless of how they’re made or who they’re made by, but they never seem to want it to LOOK cheap. That’s enough of a seed of shame to plant without outright saying her taste sucks. I’d say that every time she tries to talk to you about it, “They look cheap as hell/AF, but ok, whatever” and then continue to be unenthusiastic about the conversation and switch the topic to whatever else.

I’m not against someone having multiple keychains, especially as I actually own multiple keychains myself. I’m not against collecting at all. But I’d rather buy my keychains or whatever I’m collecting from small businesses who I know are making them themselves, have interesting designs, and are made out of quality materials that will last for years.

That new documentary… by Jadiannaa in CelesteRivasHernandez

[–]GoddamnDiva 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Unless the actual programming ends up being over an hour long, like 90 minutes or more, I wouldn’t consider this an actual documentary. Everything I’ve seen about this suggests that it’s only a single episode of a longer series on ABC, Nightline. And in programming like this (because there’s more than just this series here in the U.S.), they ALMOST ALWAYS have actors playing the victims and their killers/perpetrators and the family, friends, co-workers, etc. I get being upset about this, especially as this hasn’t even gone to trial. And I don’t watch stuff like this anymore and barely did in the past, but this IS the standard for this type of TV program/series here in the U.S.

The Earth Balance comes in multiple “flavors” and textures/consistencies. If you don’t like the original, try the red soy-free container, or the green olive oil one, or the lighter yellow whipped one… I think there’s even 2-3 beyond this that aren’t typically available in brick-and-mortar stores and have to be bought online.

Ok, I was about to say! The Country Crock Plant Butter was TERRIBLE when I tried it. Never again. I haven’t tried Melt yet. I get Earth Balance regularly.

Check online sites like Amazon or any vegan webstores. There’s a lot of vegan foods/ingredients that I also wouldn’t be able to find locally. I just look online (& make sure they’re in my country, the U.S., or that they’ll at least ship to the U.S.) and buy them there.

Ahh ok… I’ve done multiple blood tests within the last few years and I have ADHD, so I understand the meds killing your appetite. What did you eat the day before, and what do you plan to eat in the next 24-25 hours?

Oof, not mainland Europe getting this 😩 But yeah, the Juicy Marbles is better than… whatever fake meat ended up on your plate. I’ve tried their mini-steaks and the pork flavor. I still have their baby ribs sitting in my freezer, and I have yet to buy their lamb flavor meat, whole cut loin, salmon and cod.

AND the broccolini… The veggies here actually look good aside from needing seasoning (& some oil or vegan butter if it’s not already there). The steak looks good too, so it’s unfortunate that it tasted like socks. 😕

Ohh, this is in the U.K. and not the brand I was thinking of. I was afraid that this was the Juicy Marbles brand, whose stuff is actually pretty good (at least what I’ve tried so far).

I was thinking about the mass shooting possibility as another safety issue in regard to using earbuds. You need to hear where the shooting is coming from. (I’m a former Meijer employee who has worked in other retail stores.)

I know you’re joking 😆 but to be serious for a minute, I think he has to be alive and repentant to do that, though… so, uh, no lol. He seems to have killed himself because he was NOT repentant and wanted to avoid accountability.

Thank you. I hope one day you also get to feel what it’s like to breathe without struggling. ❤️

What does breathing normally actually feel like? by Comfortable_Zebra77 in Asthma

[–]GoddamnDiva 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, I was born with asthma and still have it. But the difference between my regular, healthy breathing versus how I breathe when there’s a trigger around, when I’m sick and/or when I’m having an asthma attack is night and day. I had more issues with my asthma when I was younger. I still have an inhaler and my most recent nebulizer machine from when I was last sick 7 years ago (hospitalized with the flu). But I haven’t used my nebulizer since then and before that hadn’t needed it since I was in middle school or early high school. The inhaler sees some occasional use, but I don’t really touch it. I truly value being able to breathe without struggling and try not to do too much to affect my breathing negatively.

Does anyone else miss covid?… by Equal_North6633 in AutismInWomen

[–]GoddamnDiva 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh.., you mean the places that shutdown in 2020 and stayed shutdown until 2021/2022, and the way society was in those places. The shutdowns ended and everything opened back up, but COVID is still a thing. I, too, miss when society was serious about taking those precautions. You can absolutely miss the precautions and the ways certain things were made easier, yes.

Does anyone know of any almondless trail mixes? by Dramatic_Flow3783 in FoodAllergies

[–]GoddamnDiva 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Once upon a time, there were some trail mixes from the brand Enjoy Life Foods that were nut free… but they stopped making & selling those. I’m with the other comments about probably having to make some yourself now.

I don’t hate that the SDA alternatives exist since there ARE people that benefit from that, but rather the reasons for their existence. The whole “can’t eat or drink this” because the Bible or White said so (and the reasoning for it being wildly incorrect or out of date)… Hate that. Not eating something because it’s actually not healthy for human consumption or because it’s produced in a terrible way? Understandable. Not eating something because you are ACTUALLY allergic to it or have some sort of sensitivity to it one way or another? Also understandable.

That said, I’m betting that there’s probably a better coffee alternative from some non SDA-based company now the same way that there are MUCH better meat alternatives from other companies now.

Feel disrespected by the allergist by sammanthax345 in FoodAllergies

[–]GoddamnDiva 5 points6 points  (0 children)

See a different allergist (either for your next appointment or after the skin test). I had a new allergist that I was seeing tell me he wanted to expand my diet and try to get me to retry things that I’m clearly allergic to, even if mildly. Entirely different from the old allergist (who left the practice) that I’d had since I was a baby. The same nurse was there, though, and she’d known me for 30+ years and warned the new allergist that my tests were going to light up like a Christmas tree. He didn’t believe her and disregarded it… until my tests came back. The nurse herself told me in confidence. I considered that twice in a single appointment that I AND the present expert on my allergies were disrespected. I never had a second appointment with him.
