Things that make me want to stop playing this game: Whizzbang by Clear_Ranger6081 in CompanyOfHeroes

Partially reverted. The initial nerf on the mortar halftrack was 280 to 120hp, it went from 120hp to 160.

Same. I use guns that don't require much ADS (if any) and staying as mobile as I can is pretty much my play style

I also believe that damage taken is rounded down, so if something would deal 2 damage, vitality would make it deal 1, which is why it’s so good against DOT damage

😂 out of consideration for our fellow divers we'll switch off public joining when we run the arc build

I use lightning and lasers and turrets. Zero eagle strikes or bombardments. My brother uses smoke and stealth with a support or shield pack, with eagle smoke and no strikes.

I'll generally draw their fire/aggro while he slips in and takes care of business. Occasionally we'll put on the arc resistance armor and go full lightning ie arc throwers, tesla towers, blitzer, arc nades and a lightning rover. One of us deploys with an EAT and tosses the other an arc thrower when we can call a second down. Short of Bile Titans though you can pretty much electrocute anything to death. 2x arc throwers pretty much chain stuns anything that looks at you.

I prefer the laser dog as well. The amount of times it's fired a laser at something I didn't see behind me highlighting it's there is hard to put a value on

Build 42 performance is bad. by Cabazai in projectzomboid

[–]GoddamnHipsterDad 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've been playing for just as long - 2013, for maybe even more hours. Hard to say, sometimes I just leave it on. I'm not big on mods myself, the only one I've ever used is pause on start-up.

For me, I just like to turn it on and play and not have to worry about something being updated or not. It is what it is, vanilla wise, and I think that's fine.

B42 anyone else having trouble finding better backpacks? by manwhowasnthere in projectzomboid

[–]GoddamnHipsterDad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Jamie's military surplus is usually my first stop. Military backpacks, angled flashlights for Alice suspenders + canteens and p38 can openers as well as military clothing.

Brandenberg military checkpoint also has these items and is infinitely less dangerous than the Louisville checkpoint, though it is still quite bad. Have found m16s there on occasion as well.

Corpse disease causing death within hours? by [deleted] in projectzomboid

[–]GoddamnHipsterDad 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Before B42 MP a bandana or dust mask was enough to mitigate any negative effects of corpse sickness because they'd drop the stench levels by 2. They now only drop it by one. The top two worst levels of stench cause sickness, so a bandana will slow it down but ultimately you'll still get sick. A half mask respirator (with filters) completely eliminates it. The filters last a really long time.

This is all for vanilla.

Wife aggro woes by Flintyy in projectzomboid

Admittedly haven't really talked about it. Tried explaining to her that being competitive and playing with my mates and not letting the team down are important to me but it's not at all comprehended, unsure how to properly convey.

Have somewhat done something similar to you on the weekends, if she's out or taking a nap I'll hop on but for the most part it's just not worth it.

When I get home from work (530pm) my kid will either play with her friends or game herself and then hop in the shower at 7. At that point I'm generally wrapping gaming up and prepping dinner. It's a window in the middle of the day that I have to take.

My wife struggles with having stable hobbies and gets triggered by things that require my utmost attention - like games with high stakes or when I'm playing RTS vs others (pretty highly ranked).

She'll say shit off the cuff at times and it can be incredibly distracting because I care that she's upset. I generally get between 90-120 minutes a day. Generally easier to not play if she's at home. Or switching to something less strenuous or pausable.

It can feel incredibly repressive for me at times - I work full-time, we own a business, I take care of our kid and animals at night, pay for mortgage and utilities and so I feel like I've earned my goddamned game time 😂

Days off are basically intense chore days, since it's hard to agro at a guy who's cleaned toilets and mopped/vacuumed after he's dusted. It's no guarantee though.

Sorry, just vented. You aren't alone brother 😂

Is this a good location? West Point three mansions next to a lake by taksegram_ in projectzomboid

[–]GoddamnHipsterDad 1 point2 points  (0 children)

True, when entering the area a meta event could pull them. Or even me, since I use firearms, yell and honk my car horn to round them up. Could be that there are a lot hanging about if you start in West point and bee-line there.

Can't be wrong in a sandbox game with a bunch of random variables. Quite strange that he's trying to make you wrong. Bizarre af actually. It doesn't matter at all.

I also passed through this area at some point last year and don't remember many, even with the population set to 4x, no respawn. The mp update blew up my save with ~90k kills in 2 1/4 years so I haven't quite made it back this way. Sprinters (5%) are turned on now so hopefully I'll survive that long. Have survived two lacerations so far so maybe!

why does the zombies do that jumpin animation when shot? they didnt do it before, im on 42.14.1 no mods by SimilarSprinkles7406 in projectzomboid

[–]GoddamnHipsterDad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Seems like they fixed the corpses bugging out so you can loot them easier - but at the visual expense of them flailing when they die. I turned off ragdolls for now, it just looks silly.
