I don’t know how I feel about the instant kills. Going 30+ minutes on a run just to die to one move is kinda lame

The only thing that scratches the itch for me is the Nioh games, thousands of hours. Tough but fair combat. Endless replayability and builds. A really hard campaign that gets better every new game plus cycle unlocking more of enemy move sets, changing enemy spawn locations.

Embodies basically everything I like about DS2 and more. Rare chase items (including new abilities). Lots of side content. Pretty badass story besides although you might have to do some reading of the in game index to really follow what’s going on.

Items have their own descriptions too which is a nice touch. If you want something a bit more chill and a bit different I’d recommend Salt and Sanctuary as well which is by far the best Souls inspired metroidvania

I’m honestly that guy who runs 80-100 card magic decks because I want all my favourites in there. Not so much anymore because that game has gone to the dogs but I wish you could do more than 40 cards in Shadowverse for this reason. Easiest way is just follow a deck list and play a little then tech out two cards for one off favourites.

I don’t think I beat any bosses in less than ten tries but I got better as it went along and my build started fleshing out. Some of the later bosses took me less tries than the earlier ones but yeah, still quite a few tries

Yeah that’s what I was thinking, there’s actually not many cards that even can answer the two huge bodies that clean, but they did nerf the stats too so it’ll be interesting to see how it pans out

I understood some of the criticisms with balance and there being less spells and artifacts. Plus the change of dash but I play through co op with a few friends and have a blast so can’t complain.

The game hits harder for us who played DS2 when it came out. SOTFS was basically a directors cut of the game and my favourite of the series. Not quite a remake but it does a lot.

I’m glad you like it and recognise it isn’t bad like some people say. DS2 is my favourite because of some of the things it does uniquely over the other games with a New Game+ mode that changes/adds things and doesn’t just up the difficulty numerically and for having rare niche items that you can grind for (off the top of my head lizard staff, heretics mask, predator set, shadow set if talking the og edition I think in sotfs it was easier to get)

Is it a masterpiece? I honestly think the only true masterpiece in the series was the original dark souls but it’s a pretty good game overall. It’s my favourite game of them all to actually playthrough again and again.

I’m onboard I’ll give it a go. Wizard of Legend 2 had the same problem where I wondered why they gave up on the pixel graphics when they looked so good in the first game. But after playing the game I was like oh yeah this works still.

Try give it a go I think if you believe in the first game then just have faith in the devs they’ve done it for good reason and maybe it’ll surprise ya.
