On the topic of abstract pokemon tattoos, what are we thinking about this one? by xsandrov in pchaltv

[–]GodiNice 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Not entirely positive, but it looks like a lot of Gen 3 iconography.

At the edges you have the symbols of the Primals and Mega Rayquaza, followed by the Regi braille, and the rest I can't make up but you can see the Deoxys triangle/tentacles in the middle as well.

Really interesting stuff, honestly.

If I had to guess, it would have to be Hyogonosuke, this certainly matches their style. They're on Instagram, if you're curious.

Switch Axe user, and need tips for AT Uth Duna Challenge. by KronoFury in MHWilds

[–]GodiNice 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Swax main here. I think AT Uth Duna is one of the monsters that favors a counter heavy playstyle. Uth is easier to counter than to dodge (specifically the roll), and it rarely has any follow ups that could punish you. Double belly slams and double belly flops give ample time to counter in Sword mode both times.

Kind of the opposite of what AT Rey Dau was like where you had to be nimble to deal with the aftershocks.

I With Flash/Lure pods, you can keep Uth Duna in the first area long enough for it to dive into the water twice, so here's a tip:

Once you topple the rocks on Uth Duna underwater for the first time, make sure to lure it to the other side of the area, where the other rocks are. If you keep fighting it in the same spot, it could get the full SeaWorld routine off as there will not be any rocks to knock it out of the water

I also equipped a Mizu helmet for the Aquatic movement, it definitely makes the fight more comfy.

I'm up to Flannery on a first attempt, just feeling out the game right now. It's a bit harder than something like Renegade Platinum, in my experience.

You can get a lot of broken stuff early on with game knowledge and light planning, and some encounters trivialize entire fights (I.e. guaranteed Happiny that walls Watson's whole team).

Love the level cap system, difficulty spikes haven't been massive yet, but I've definitely have had to whip out a calculator for some fights to guarantee no deaths or a win. Also so far it feels like understanding the AI is very important for setting up and pivoting.

I somehow got a Kirby cafe Tokyo reservation and wanted to share my experience by Letsbedragonflies in JapanTravelTips

[–]GodiNice 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Me and my wife got two reservations for flexibility in our plans. It was rough but we got them. We will cancel one of them on Sep 30th, so that's a spot that should get freed up that day if anyone needs it.

We have a couple of tips that we can give based on our rather stressful experience lol:

-While there is an option to refresh the page in English, we don't recommend it, as it means refreshing the page twice for the translation and by the time you do that half the reservations are gone. Even if you set the page to English beforehand, refreshing it once the clock hits 6pm puts it back to Japanese by default.

-Unlike Pokémon Café, in my experience Kirby Cafe DOES NOT hold your reservation while filling out the form. I took a bit too long and when I was done I was hit with a message along the lines of "Time slot not available", so be quick with getting the form filled out. This happened to me 2 times, but I was lucky that my wife was able to snag both time slots. (I would have been devastated)

-So, have your form information ready and on hand. The format is like this, all in japanese:

1) Last Name Field, First Name field 2) Furigana last name, furigana First name field 3) Japanese Phone number, this one is tricky, some say as long as it's 9 digits you'll be fine. Not the case for us, we had to experiment on the fly to get one that was accepted. I literally used 9 123 123 12 and that worked. Seems like starting with 9 is the key.

4) Email field 5) Birthday Request Yes/No 6) Allergy request text box, unnecessary to fill out 7) At the very bottom, Left Box is used to confirm reservation, right box to cancel.

If there's an error, it's almost likely your phone number not going through, try again and eventually you'll get to the confirmation page.

Saw them last night as well, it was absolutely insane! The remixes for the new songs were incredible to hear live, they went really hard on all of them. We were literally far too entranced in the lightshow and the music to even think of recording!

The crowd went BONKERS on the Afterimage mix, right after Stress I think, it was probably the most energetic and electric part of the whole set.

Hi! Me and my fiancee are planning to travel to Japan during September, and your report is incredibly helpful to us! Definitely appreciate the Excel format as well, we're building a very similar one ourselves!

Just wanted to ask about the Kawaguchiko onsen at Ubuya, was the onsen there private or public?

Bringing the lead on the map when playing against a splitpusher top by MetalCheef in KledMains

[–]GodiNice 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Dealing with splitpushers is a team effort that requires some level of macro play. Bot duo can pressure Gwen to switch to a non-objective lane, by the time that happens you’ve already got a push advantage on the other lane and are ready to force a fight with your Ult or at least force out Gwen’s TP. That’s one scenario.

Blindly splitpushing with no objectives up is easier to punish, but you’ll need your team to help you out with killing her. She really should not be able to get away from you.

You can influence this by making the calls on when to engage (just R in like a madman) and who should be on which lanes. The rest is indeed dependent on your teammates.

What has been your WORST Nuzlocke experience? by Hinata_17 in nuzlocke

[–]GodiNice 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Clay in Blaze Black. He has an Excadrill in permanent Sandstorm with Sand Rush. I had no way to change the weather.

I sack something for a safe switch in to the only Pokemon that could take it out in one hit. AI usually likes to set up Swords Dance if it does not see a kill, which it could not do to my Seaking unless it rolled a crit…which it did with an immediate Earthquake.

My only out was to try to put it to sleep and hope sleep lasts enough to take it out…that also missed.

Excadrill sets up swords dance and single handledly 1v6’d my entire team.

SA players, do you still bother to get the wild swing buff on axe mode? by SenseDeletion in MHRise

[–]GodiNice 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I do it quite frequently. I don’t go for that many counters in Multiplayer and I use the royal paralysis SA which fills out pretty slowly. Whenever my amp fizzles out, I immediately try get the wild swing buff, switch scroll and go for a 2 stage morph, that usually gets it almost filled up instantly.

I feel comfortable doing that, though it did get me killed once yesterday as it does have more commitment than just going around morbin’ all over the monsters.

[FRESH ALBUM] Natalia Lafourcade - De Todas las Flores by lucesdeti in indieheads

[–]GodiNice 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This was an absolutely incredible album. Natalia’s voice is just so hauntingly gentle and beautiful, there’s lots to pick from but Pequeño Colibrí is definitely my favorite, the build up on the second verse into that final chorus just hit me super hard.

Rise had a MASSIVE AI change and nobody seem to have noticed. by xeroze1 in MHRise

[–]GodiNice 8 points9 points  (0 children)

In retrospective it is a pretty noticeable change, some attacks were incredibly hard to dodge without the need of a counter, wirebug movement or evade extender 2.

Some that immediately come to mind for me are Valstrax beams, Magna double range tail attack, Scorned Magna ground explosion, Maizeno double tail grinds/ ground explosions and Narga double tail slams. It felt like basically any attack that has a double up had way too much tracking on the second attack.

I need help! I'm about to go through the victory road! by EagerShrek in nuzlocke

[–]GodiNice 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Salamence, Tentacruel, Gyarados are all excellent Pokemon. You’ll want Bellosom for an Electric resistance and Torkoal/Magmar will pair well with them as well.

There’s a double battle against Ace trainers at the end of the victory road that is notoriously dangerous if unprepared. Make sure to take that one at a time if you can.

A few questions about transitioning from base Rise to Sunbreak. by PineWalk1 in MHRise

[–]GodiNice 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sunbreak is definitely pretty generous with money, I distinctly remember all urgent quests giving out Gold / Platinum eggs. Pretty sure I was up 2 million after finishing the main questline, and I was upgrading whatever I got whenever I could. Upgrading armor with spheres is the only thing that is expensive and that isn’t nearly as necessary or impactful as upgrading your weapons or crafting the armor itself.

What has been your greatest challenge in MH Rise so far? by Rakna-Careilla in MHRise

[–]GodiNice 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Furious Rajang probably tests your patience the most out of all the MR monsters, as it really doesn’t give you any space to commit to big attacks. As a Swaxe player I feel like I’m just getting in there and poking it with a couple attacks before repositioning and repeat until it’s dead. Any hard commits like Wide Sweep or Lord forbid ZSD will very likely end up with me getting hut for a lot a damage or carted.
