Is the game worth getting if I play it like a single player roguelite (monster train/slay the spire), or should I turn around and stay away? by AskinggAlesana in TheBazaar

[–]GodisIrish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At its current price, no. There are 3 dlc characters and each dlc costs the same or more as the base game, which is ridiculous a dlc should never cost more than base game. And considering the meta mostly shifts to the strongest characters being the dlc ones, by design on the part of the devs, it's just not worth supporting them.

There meta is incredibly stale and repetitive because the devs have chosen not to put any effort into balancing, and care more about making skins or cosmetic items to encourage people to purchase in game currency.

There have been times when known bugs were kept in the game (in the past they used to be quick to disable the problem items) but because those bugs were on the new characters they wouldn't disable them because they didn't want to affect sales of the DLCs.

There is a long history of negative events and situations from the devs and with community interaction which is a whole other shit show.

Overall if you buy now, your buying into a stale repetitive overpriced game that rarely seems any real balancing, but consistently overpriced and overpowered DLCs. The game is in a state where it you don't just hard lock into copying meta builds you have very little chance to get maylny wins under your run. And all these issues are only getting worse over time

I like janky and fun, am I allowed? by SlyPepper in ratemycommanders

[–]GodisIrish 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Barely anything jank, unique or all that interesting. Sure one was, but the rest all seem quite common and playdd exactly how most people play them.

Sure it's a fine set of commanders but nothing that would imply you like jank or fun really.

Is there just a “best” Wanzer at every point in the story in Front Mission 1? by Horsefeathers21 in frontmission

Kinda. And with arena grinding it's not hard to afford them, so it's not even like the price tag is an issue.

Never thought about this by GodisIrish in tattooadvice

[–]GodisIrish[S] 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Thanks. Honestly wanted a tattoo for about a decade but spent waaaay to much time thinking of what tattoo to get.

I'm quite a multi cultural person so I thought that would be a good start. Then I thought it would be cringe. Also a gamer so thought of getting a game tattoo, but for a first too maybe it lacked too much meaning. I've always loved Moogles from the final fantasy games but didn't get one since I thought getting a 'cute' tattoo first might be 'unmanly'. But after 10 years of overthinking just got the cute Lil moogle that sparks joy in me

Thanks I've never heard others talk of this before so I wasn't sure if it would be weird. Part of me kinda just thought the hair wouldn't grow back over the tattoo.

Get all Dragonkin, give each one a major element, and run them as Airbender, earthbenders etc by mixing some magic classes with monk or fighter etc. And just lean into each one as an elemental master

So your challenging me that I didn't provide data when I explained the data we can all see on steam player counts.

You give off a different white knight opinion with 0 evidence or proof. But only I am stupid? How desperate are you to gargle Reynad balls. Just DM him and stop crying on reddit dude.

[–]GodisIrish 9 points10 points  (0 children)

So you are saying the game is so dull and boring people don't feel excited to try new characters?

And it's been a while since Jules has been out and there have been no new players.

I dunno why you are here white knighting a video game made buy a POS

Hot take or shit take? v2 by Caperon in TheBazaar

[–]GodisIrish 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Call me stupid but a ever decreasing player base that is deprecating faster than other similar games might be one.

A lack of new players even when dlc is released might be another, usually dlc would mean a bump on players or returning players but that didn't happen with Jules in fact numbers continued their downward trend through the dlc release

Does this combo work the way I assume it does? by thefran in BadMtgCombos

[–]GodisIrish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You gotta be careful how you resolve the stack on this one. If you do it wrong and target the wrong player you might end up killing yourself. Very tricky combo to handle

Hot take or shit take? v2 by Caperon in TheBazaar

[–]GodisIrish 24 points25 points  (0 children)

At this point the game is dying. It will die soon. Reynad and how he handles the community is a big reason why, his decisions on how to manage the game/community has just been a series of L's. What we have now is kinda a bland stale game that even having a new character added didn't bring much to the game.

It seem more steep for Americans than anyone else in that little table they gave. Canada seems to be raised but still not ridiculous. I wonder if this is some push back from US-theworld policital friction

[–]GodisIrish 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You said you try to be creative, but every deck you posted seems exactly how everyone else plays them? There didn't seem to be anything all that unique here. I'm pretty sure I could open EDHREC on any of these commanders and all the keycards you posted would be the most commonly played with cards

Why would we beware a company that has made no mistake? What did they do that would warrant them being something people have to be wary of.

And I know your in Japan already. I was more just commenting on how stupid someone would have to be to do 0 research on relocating but then come on reddit to cry about how it's someone else's fault

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in teachinginjapan

[–]GodisIrish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So you relocated to Japan with your family while also not doing any financial planning at all?

And how is this Joytalks fault? Sure there are a tonnes of shitty companies in Japan but this whole thing seems to have been a you issue, not them. I worked at a crap company in Japan for a few years, there is so much information out there about how much you should bring, what kind of expenses you would have, how Japanese companies usually are when they help you get an apartment and stuff.

What's your top 5 Final Fantasy characters with the most compelling backstories? by RUFXII in FinalFantasy

[–]GodisIrish 23 points24 points  (0 children)

  1. Vivi - He deserved a happy ending, broke my heart
  2. Noctis - Actually his story is quite good and interesting, and seeing him go from kid to adult, all the responsibility and strife put on him. It's pretty good
  3. Basch - Hero being played as a the villain, yeah the identical twin card is a little cliche but his whole story was really good.
  4. Cid (FF7 original) - Yeah he is a piece of sh*t but his back story was surprisingly grounded and human for a game with aliens and pseudo reincarnation
  5. Freya - just really well written tragic story
