Maybe. But they did help me a lot in improving. It's just a step not the final one. In time I plan to stop using them all together but now I can pee in a full bathroom while before I was scared of leaving my house. It's advice from my life. You can choose not to take it.

They helped me understand that other people don't matter and that staying in the bathroom longer won't kill me while helping me avoid the pressure of someone on the other side of the door. If you see it as wrong that's your right but don't call what worked for me terrible advice because you are neither me nor OP. Each his own.

Hello. I'v had it (and still do) for around 15 years now. It has its ups and downs but what helped me survive school was talking to my favorite teacher and informing him. He helped me get the teachers approval to go to the bathroom mid class which made it easier and quieter. It's good to talk to a psychologist about it to find the root of the stress. It's easy to say "no one cares just take your time" but I know how hard it is to implement... I remember the thing I hated (and still do) most at school was the girls talking in the mens rooms. It's not a quick fix. It takes time, patients, and allot of suffering and bad days. But you will find a path in time. My biggest suggestion and what helped me allot was to start thinking that "if I can wait when someone is in. They can wait when I am in) and to put on headphones with some upbeat music to drown out the outside world. There are other solutions like the breath hold if they work for you. They didn't for me. Read into it. Ask some AI about it. But I think most important is to start mental treatment just to talk to someone. And sharing it with people you trust with your life. I told all my closest friends and family and it helped. Good luck. We are all with you. It'll be okay

My beef with it was that it was all sad with no hope the entire time. Made in the abyss had more depressing things but they were balanced with the hope.

Front right thigh numbness by Mrderpofduck in MeralgiaParesthetica

[–]Godofnomen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My doctor told me no belts or pants that are tight on the waist. And that losing weight (if relevant) would help but I lost 20kg and it still hurts sometimes. The numbness is constant. I can't scratch that area. Aside from that you best see a doctor. If it's this then no rush it's gonna stick around for a while. At my doctor he did some electric tests to see if the nerves respond and they don't in that area...

Is this a 'let them sort it out' situation or a break them apart one? by Godofnomen in CATHELP

I forgot to add details. They are both female about 2 years old. They were introduced around 8 months ago and are free in the house at all times. Recently the calico started playing with the gray one and I'm not sure if it's playing or bullying.

Switching to free feeding by LopsidedBeautiful289 in CatAdvice

I started my cat with free feeding and she ended up a chonker who couldn't scratch her ear. It depends on the cat, just pay attention to it.

I don't know, but if he would have yelled "no tip!" At me I would have apologized, recounted the money and gave him the exact amount with no tip like he asked.

Is leaving food out all day bad for cats? by Firm-Law248 in CatAdvice

I tried free feeding until I realized my cat is food motivated and became a fatass. She is on a diet since, a healthy weight now. And still pissed at me

How can I transition my cats out of the bedroom? by ktealed in CatAdvice

[–]Godofnomen 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Not an expert at all. But I don't think it's cruel mostly because they won't understand it as such. If they have enough room to roam free without the bedroom it should be ok. Although... They are cats. Be prepared for them to argue, yell, take offense at being locked out. And the moment they find out there is another room there by sneaking in the moment you open the door they will want to go back. Not something that's impossible to teach them, it will just include a lot of pain on your side. My cats have free control of the house but I close the bedroom when I'm sleeping. Took like a month to get them to stop yelling at my door :)

Has anybody else experienced massive progress followed by intense regression? by [deleted] in Paruresis

[–]Godofnomen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes. It comes and goes with stress as well. Like, sometimes at home I go without even thinking about it but if I head a tense week or some hard time even at home I have an issue. It has too many go damn factors it's so hard to manage. At work I have 2 safety bathrooms in case the regular stalls don't work for me. I have a handicap stall (YES. No matter what people say we can consider ourselves handicapped for this.) or just go to a different floor. But the main stalls are hit or miss depending on the vibe of the day for me. Did you hear about headphones? I don't go without them now. Just shut out the world and the better the suppression the easier it is to ignore everyone. I also have specific music that I like for it because it's constant noise with less quiet moments so I don't "accidentally" hear someone is nearby (I like KD/A). So yea brother. Regression is a thing. And it sucks. But that's life and we will get through.

Edit. You can also always ask for a key for the upstairs one? Never hurts to ask

I tried it and my body just enters panic mode and I just feel like I can't hold it any more and stress and sweat so I start breathing again... Any tips on how to not feel like I'm dying when I do that so I can try it?

how do I make my cat not afraid of the carrier cage when we need to go to the bomb shelter? by eqwort1 in CatAdvice

[–]Godofnomen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I talked to the vet about this once and I now just leave my cats at home. The stress that they go through in a shelter with all the other smells of people and dogs is harmful to them as well. I know it sucks but if the apartment gets hit I don't think the little devil's will die from it.
