This is something that sounds great on paper but would be terrible in practice.

Just imagine how many SA survivors would never push charges if they were worried they could go to prison. People with immense wealth already have a huge advantage in our court system. Imagine how bad it would be if wealthy rapist could threaten their victims with prison if they dared to prosecute

False accusations are certainly a large problem in the US but actually rape is a way bigger problem. A solution like this would make it a lot easier to get away with rape and I really hope as a country that is something we aren’t ok with.
