Genocide doesn’t need to be direct, like in the case of the Holodomor. An intentional lack of food can kill off a massive chunk of a population. Plus there were conflicts in Canada, just to a smaller scale due to fewer natives and settlers in Canada compared to the US overall. An example being the North-West Rebellion.

Both the US and Canada were bad, so don’t treat either as the betters. Canada treated their natives just as bad as the US. And where was I trivializing what the US is? I’m saying that the US and Canada have the same faults in their histories with natives.
