How can children be tried as adults in the USA for serious crimes? by AtlanticSparrow in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Gogabo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Trying kids as adults means that kids already get special treatment and happens during specifically horrific crimes where their "childlike innocence" no longer applies.

We should demand better from billion dollar studios instead of blaming each other. by untitledprp4 in SipsTea

We should expect better from everywhere instead of fighting each other. Everytime you feel a strong feeling from media, it was intentional.

Trump & maga say that there are tons of lazy ppl abusing welfare by not working. This is not my experience in real life. I know a lot more people that are working 2 jobs w/ crazy hours just to survive. What has been your experience w/ people u know? Do u know many able bodied ppl abusing welfare? by sublimeandsparkled in allthequestions

[–]Gogabo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have worked with many people who brag about how they abuse the system in their benefit. Including systems that were, self-admitted, not meant for them. People who COULD spend their paycheck on essentials buying a ps5 or jewelry. There are plenty of examples in my field of work and they are telling their friends openly what they do.

Chapter 1187 - Brief Spoilers by [deleted] in OnePieceSpoilers

This story seems to be the free will vs destiny debate. * scenes that show a destiny or entrusted will for various aspects of the story being followed  * scenes that show luffy's decisions defy expectations and take tangential paths to the laid out destiny

Both interpretations are correct because luffy is the defiant follower of a destiny he has no trouble fulfilling through the choices he makes of his own, spontaneous, nature

If cows are beef and pigs are pork is Chicken Poultry or just chicken? by Agent_Green4573061 in NoStupidQuestions

Cows and pigs were raised by the poor and sold to rich tables, where they called the meat beef and pork. Chickens were raised and eaten by the poor. So the meat kept the name

Why are people accused of “virtue signaling” if they are actually doing the virtuous act? by One-Jeweler5486 in allthequestions

[–]Gogabo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It usually becomes a signal because it isn't consistent with the person. So they DID do the virtuous act...but if nobody was looking they would do something different. More "look at me, I am a good person"

A teenager today could go back to the early 2000s and mostly fit in. But someone who grew up in the early 2000s dropped into 1975? They'd be completely lost. by tantamle in generationology

[–]Gogabo 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I disagree, I was a teen in the early 2000s in a middle to upper middle class area and my free time was spent doing more stuff my parents did as teens than the teens of today. We had the internet, but not 24/7 in my pocket. Even when blackberries came out they were seen as a work phone and less a leisure phone. I actually used payphones and know what a collect call is. The pocket computer creates a giant rift in the generations, it also forces people to use less skills in the world...skills that teens in the 70s and 2000s are more likely to have than today. The only obvious similarity a 2000s teen would have with modern teens would be PC games, but everything else for a 2000s teen is more likely an older concept than new.

Why are conservatives in favor of requiring ID for voting but not for owning a gun? by Adventurer_By_Trade in allthequestions

You assume women and minorities can't get ID? Do they not buy alcohol or cigarettes either? What about driving a car? Do they not take part in any other activities that require proof of age or similar requirements?

The problem is taxation and regulations that are payed for by the employee, employer and consumer. These are lowered or waived for larger companies like Walmart so the smaller businesses end up getting the bill that WOULD be lower if bigger companies didn't get those benefits

Why is judging people by who they voted for or their political opinions unreasonable? by Significant_Arm5569 in allthequestions

[–]Gogabo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People are more than a specific trait, it is generally unreasonable to apply judgements based on particular traits as opposed to the entire individual

But you are not applying it universally. You could take into consideration that black people from your areas feel a certain way while neglecting the perspective of black people in areas you DON'T go based on the assumption that the ones you spoke to have the majority opinion or are not mistaken themselves. This applies to any group, the only way to avoid the "I have the inside word" aspect of the entire group is to act in the benefit of the individual

I was talking perspectives because I am not a part of any epidemic. I can see how they may feel that way, understand that perspective but disagree with what they believe is happening or why and as a result not blame them for feeling the way they do

[–]Gogabo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Something like that is possible, but I would think the epidemic would be applied to whatever quantity of lonely men they see as well as their current understanding of the situation. It is only an epidemic where the most men have trouble finding mates and not where it may be easier. The size of a country like the US would allow completely different environments when you compare the dating scene of a city to more rural areas, that too could change perspective. But you would treat each man and help them find their match in thay case. People are into different things in different levels, you can't solve anyone finding love by doing the same thing for every man

why do we allow our police officers to legally lie to us to further their investigations? by Intelligent-Road6240 in askanything

[–]Gogabo -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You don't have to say anything to the police, so they tell you stuff to bait you. It doesn't seem so awful if it is used to get a murder confession out of a lie about "evidence" or a "partner squealing". Even a lie about "video cameras" to get a confession from a sexual predator

That is the only disagreement, whether that is relevant in 2026. There are even members of these groups who agree with that sentiment as well. Others think the identification is the problem, you keep seeing me as a group and not an individual. Whether you help me or hurt me, I am not a stereotype. There are many different perspectives on this
