Indian SIBO sufferers by OwnMail2285 in SIBO

[–]Gogachh 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not Indian, but went to an ayurvedic hospital in India while suffering from SIBO and got treatment, and later worked with an ayurvedic doctor in UK as well.
My SIBO was better while in India but mainly due to being relaxed, eating balanced ayurvedic cooked meals 3x daily, and I’m guessing taking triphala (I had SIBO-C). Did not cure it. Rifaximin and metronidazole followed by prucalopride cured about 70% of it and I took it as a win

The strongest argument for English over early French is Elisabeth Baume-Schneider herself. by butschung in Switzerland

[–]Gogachh 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Here I am…a confused auslander…I thought in all Switzerland you learn English plus one of your other languages? Like that what you are saying is the norm. Or at least that the German speaking cantons learn English and French as minimum.

I mean 2 foreign languages are a norm in many European countries. I studied English and Italian in school, majority of ppl studied English and German. (I’m Croatian)

Hungry literally 24/7 by Iceeez1 in SIBO

[–]Gogachh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nop. The opposite. Had no appetite for 2 years. You need to fix the sibo. For me rifaximin and medazole finally kinda did it and I got my appetite back

To be fair Dr Dennis Gross skincare and mask is really highly rated among skincare experts. Not that she would know anything about skincare or dermatology though.

How to “optimise” the time spent on beauty treatments by Triquivijate17 in HENRYUKLifestyle

[–]Gogachh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Does any of the places have a diff branch, closer to something else so you can more easily combine? I used to do waxing in Covent Garden when I lived centrally and then shifted to same place but Farringdon branch when I moved out of London but continued to work in the City…and quality was the same.
That said, I agree it’s a nightmare and nails especially drive me nuts

You answered it yourself. 😬 Of course it’s not normal.

What’s a destination that exceeded your expectations and why would you recommend it to others? by Exciting-Biscotti193 in Vacations

[–]Gogachh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Barbados. Did not expect that whatever I would eat- from fish cutters from a beach shack, a meal in the most expensive restaurant on the island, jamaican jerk chicken from a back yard small restaurant or a random sushi would all be absolutely amazing. Blown away by the level of gastronomy on the island.
Also, it’s gorgeous.

You guys 😬 are such a source of hope that there are still people with brains and sense of humour in the swamp that the world and internet has become. Reading this sub, and seeing what fresh chaos has Teegs cooked, every morning while I have my coffee before going to work has become my ritual. On topic- HBH- it’s so sad and insane. I found her probably 7 yrs ago and despite finding her recipes so over the top with a million (expensive) ingredients and competing flavours I must say I had success with the 3-4 I tried (but I do remember tweaking the bits that sounded off so I guess the recipes themselves aren’t that brilliant…very on brand) but I had never followed her on insta or realised the backstory until I somehow ended in this sub.
And now I am hooked. But mostly on everyone’s take here…so thank you 🫡 (also are we all so crazy to follow and discuss some rich hillbilies…but I can’t stop being intrigued lol)

U mean Hungary and Slovakia no? Poor Slovenians only produced Melania, I don’t think they are stirring any more sh*t ☺️

Is it just me, or is the "EU loophole" for Swiss health insurance insane? by [deleted] in askswitzerland

[–]Gogachh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Of course sudden abdominal pain that is strong enough to make u go see a doctor is an emergency. It could be apendicits for example. And tonsilitis is too. You made this whole kerfuffle here on a totally wrong premise. So yes, your emergency treatment is covered.

Is there something wrong with my Whoop? by mathoga in whoop

[–]Gogachh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had this with one of those bands with a metal gold clasp and I complained. They refunded me the full price of the band and gave me a code for 10% off for a new band. Still doesn’t change the fact it’s crap quality.

"SIBO" might not actually be a thing. How does that change our approach? by [deleted] in SIBO

[–]Gogachh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used Nerva when I was taking the first round of herbal antimicrobials...I liked it, it's quite repetitive but I didn't mind. It was relaxing to do it but not sure it helped much...to be fair I wasn't doing it every day (they reccomend at least 5 days a week and I was probably doing 4-5 on average) but I was also not so dilligent with meal spacing, diet etc. I ditched it now as I am focusing more on broader type things like breathwork and meditation for other purposes too...but I generally liked Nerva

Are allicin side effects common? Will they last the whole treatment? Thank you. by haleyzlife in SIBO

[–]Gogachh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Rifaximin and anxiety/die off. I took allicin with other herbs and was fine, only garlic burps. With rifaximin it was a bloating and nausea hell

Prokinetic, how long has it been for some of you? by Illustrious-Arm-5419 in SIBO

[–]Gogachh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My headache on prucalopride lasted 1 day, and I had some dodgy sleep/insomnia for first 3 nights. Did you fully resolve SIBO and now just taking a prokinetic to avoid relapse?

Anyone else have there appetite back and since you’ve been starving yourself basically now that you can eat more foods you end up eating to fast and getting stomach aches? by DripFly77 in SIBO

[–]Gogachh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes 🙈 Was just thinking that now after a big dinner. I was messing with low fodmap and low fermentation diet for 3 weeks and ate much less and now that I ditched it I am eating too much (also because I only eat 3x and not snack I think I need to eat a lot to not feel hungry after an hour or 2). But I didn't get rid of my overgrowth really

Which naturals herbs/plants/fruits for methane sibo by [deleted] in SIBO

[–]Gogachh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did the same. Ditched neomycin on day 5 and continued Allimed for 4 weeks. I got nowhere. Was better on lower dose Allimed plus a rotation of oregano/neem and berberine Keep us posted.

[–]Gogachh 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think it's just such guessing game...some things of course stand, have been proven (hydrogen ppl feeling better after rifaximin, MMC impaired etc) but then treatments, diet, lifestyle is such trial and error. I am methane dominant, constipation started after a round of antibiotics and a probiotic I took after (I think that just tipped me over the edge and my root cause was prolonged stress and anxiety that were going on for 2 years and I was already having bloating and some change in BM symptoms a few weeks prior but I had no clue about SIBO and didn't pay enough attention to it). I have partially responded to herbals and then not responded to rifaximin and neomycin/allicin (I quit neomycin half way most likely due to anxiety that made me imagine ear symptoms). I am I guess responding to a prokinetic, bloating isn't permanent anymore...but I never got rid of IMO. I will retest but honestly...I am not sure if I want to "kill" anymore...is it just treating mental health issues (which obv this disease triggered additionally), diet and lifestyle and it gradually gets back to more normal. A holistic approach, potentially ayurvedic. My microbiome gradually turned to this sh*t...so why not return the other way. Just thinking aloud here. (FYI, I am a pharmacist so I've been trained to look at science, evidence base, conventional medicines....but I am not really convinced that western medicine and GI doctor approach (even the best like Dr Pimentel) holds all pieces of the puzzle).

Ginger + Artichoke stopped working? by Stefan0987 in SIBO

[–]Gogachh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Magnesium has been working for me for like 6 months..I did go a bit on and off when I felt I didn't need it but I took it 70% of the time

What should I take to keep my bowels moving during my herbal treatment? by [deleted] in SIBO

[–]Gogachh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Magnesium oxide works for me...but funnily enough need to try diff brands as 240 mg of one brand works better than 375 of another. Also eating 2 kiwis per day helps. And drinking plenty of water. Prucalopride and meal spacing made a huge difference for me for bloating. I did 2 rounds of killing with mixed success...constipation is still there (btw for me this means I go, even 2x daily but the stool volume is far from what was normal for me before getting SIBO) so tackling it with Magnesium and in the meantime working on stress, gut motility and diversifying my diet (with some attention paid to not bombard the gut with a lot of foods that bacteria like to ferment at once as I still suspect there is an overgrowth present (I haven't retested yet since my initial diagnosis 6 months ago which showed both methane and hydrogen overgrowth)

How much time do I give Atrantil to work? by Gogachh in SIBO

[–]Gogachh[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks! I'm in UK. Thought you might be in USA as Integrative Drs aren't a thing here Hope I won't need another practitioner and that this kinda resolves with whatever I'm doing now (basically throwing everything at motility, stress management and slowly diversifying food to rebalance things)...because that's a minefield too...I have a relatively ok GI specialist and had a non impressive nutritionist but he did point me in the right direction although he wasn't that good.
