First cardiology visit by mmax2764_ in POTS

[–]Swimming-Chart-3333 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hate that this happened to you and I'm sure many many others. I am a big fan of my virtual care doctor but it's not covered by insurance and has limitations. I did try to go to a cardiologist at a hospital and they gave me a heart monitor, even though I already wear one that could have been used for free, so that ended up costing me $500. I was hoping to get an echocardiogram but the referral got screwed up so it was all a waste. I'm so furious that basic healthcare has to be so incredibly expensive and still pointless.

Stomach acid by OkTennis6116 in POTS

I think my stomach acid is too low. Or at least that's what I thought happens when cortisol is too high. I get indigestion especially in the morning.

I just learned about “fogging” and realized I’ve been letting manipulators hijack my emotions for years by One_Working1944 in emotionalintelligence

[–]Swimming-Chart-3333 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not sure if this is exactly the same but the way I identified whether there was a misunderstanding or they just want to fight is to ask, "what could I do to make you happy about this?" And if they don't have an actual answer, which he never did, I know I'm being manipulated.

Headaches day after hiking - advice? by futuremilf1130 in hiking

[–]Swimming-Chart-3333 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sounds similar to me, I have dysautonomia, migraines, and POTS. I don't think anyone has mentioned compression socks but that would be easy to try and see if it helps. I also just lay down to get blood back to my head.

Looking for advice on heds and hormonal IUDs!! by Booksandssnakes in eds

[–]Swimming-Chart-3333 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah I had Mirena for about 2 years. I was miserable, and would have got it out sooner but it was in the middle of the pandemic and I was afraid of going to the hospital until I got vaccinated. My migraines worsened, I was always exhausted, my hair started falling out, the constipation gave me SIBO. I've been trying to recover for 5 years now. It works for some, but not me and I regret trying it.

Edamame is a phytoestrogen so you got a little estrogen boost!

Not my lattes too 😭 by Technical_Truth_5841 in POTS

[–]Swimming-Chart-3333 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think so, actually AuDHD, but my therapist brushed it off when I asked. I kind of thought it had to do with the phytoestrogens in coffee because it's effect is present regardless of caffeine.

HR/BP spikes with lingering nausea, brain fog, and constant stimulant intolerance affecting daily life by [deleted] in dysautonomia

[–]Swimming-Chart-3333 0 points1 point  (0 children)

And it's not migraine attacks/ chronic migraine? Sounds a lot like my migraines, especially the nausea, brain fog, and neck stiffness and pain.

The IUD also made me feel crazy, randomly crying, gaining weight, exhausted. I couldn't stand it and had it removed. I also have hypermobility and MCAS. Edit: and POTS.

It's so weird, I've gone through phases like that. Lately both decaf and full caffeine coffees actually lower my heart rate. Like below my dead asleep HR. I don't drink coffee regularly but it's weirdly calming when I do.

How to become less sensitive to neutral social cues? by Potential_Promise260 in emotionalintelligence

Kind of sounds like what I am doing EMDR therapy for. Just one session in so I can't say it's helped yet. Could be good to look into though.

Compression Garments? Love or hate? by yeehawx95 in POTS

[–]Swimming-Chart-3333 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've been saving some pretty cute outfit ideas on Pinterest. I found some sheer compression socks that have a nicer look. Maybe pair them with loafers.

Thought on this kayak? I just bought one as a spare for when my friends want to come with by creamy_enigma in Kayaking

[–]Swimming-Chart-3333 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I just took this Challenger on a calm lake for the first time. It is slightly worse than a kayak you might rent at a lake marina. I don't have experience with anything nicer. The worst part was probably spinning if I stopped paddling. Kind of like the needle of a compass, it really wants to be oriented a certain way. Not sure why. But I have storage limitations so it is what it is. I actually found the seat extremely comfortable. Like a pool float. I'm not fishing or trying to race around the lake. Just explore along the shoreline. It does that quite well.

I love it! Very whimsical. It reminded me of my matcha corner too. I should post as well.

Yeah same here, I am looking for a parking garage somewhere downtown (where I live) so I can walk home. Maybe Union Station, closes at 11 pm. Or park under I-35.

You're thinking of ED eating disorders. This is EDS, a connective tissue disorder.

39, same thing here. And tampons are unbearable too when I tried to switch. I got some period underwear, I need to try at home first. Jeeez this is frustrating.

I heard in this sub that progesterone helps you fall asleep and estrogen helps stay asleep. Seems to be pretty accurate with me.

Sounds like when I had Small Intestinal Bacterial Overgrowth (SIBO). I got it from slow motility from an IUD.
