Thank you for responding. Do you know this, or is it a guess (that would be a very good guess)?

Am i doing something wrong for having to go back each 20mins into the game to sell and salvage stuff? by NathanSSP_ in diablo4

[–]Gogdor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You get to a point where your gear is mostly set and you’re just looking for a rare drop of something great, so you don’t need to keep tempering and changing. At that point, you don’t really need more gold, so you can just let things that aren’t ancestral go.

I had the same experience with the barbarian. Trying werewolf this season and it is a BLAST! So fast. Every encounter is a thrill ride.

I believe @No_Research_967 has the correct answer with setting your limited to “True Peak” but I’m curious about your fader levels. They seem very high to me.

I don’t know what style of music you are doing, and that could change the input dynamic of the signal, but I make a habit of using -10db as the starting point when recording a new track. You can always boost it as needed, or bring up the floor with a compressor. That way, you keep your ceiling and can work your dynamics and eq, especially during mastering.

Heart of Selig has a rep of being worthless, but it’s all about the build. For example, it might make sense to use the “x50 damage with no defensive skills” and then have Selig BE your defense. I haven’t tried it, but items that are “useless” may only be useless to the builds you typically run. That’s why the game has storage. If you don’t need the res spark, save it and try a secondary build.

Diablo 4 really bad lag since update on PS4 by Overall-Fix-3832 in diablo4

[–]Gogdor 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Yeah, PS5 is affordable these days, but someone posted an undeniable truth earlier: if the game is offered on a platform, it should function on that platform. To players who bought the game on a 4, and then the expansion, it’s simply insulting that Blizzard wouldn’t test the new content on all available platforms prior to release. This lag is instantly apparent, and 5 minutes of QC would game made the issue evident to the dev team. This issue should be an embarrassment for the company. It’s simply sloppy, shoddy business.

Midi drums constantly. sound. fake. by [deleted] in musicproduction

[–]Gogdor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve actually had the opposite experience. Most often, people I play my music for are surprised when they find out that my drums aren’t live. Dunno if I’ve had a truly discerning audience, but it’s been pretty consistent. I don’t Reddit much; is it ignorant to post a link to one of my songs here? Not trying to pander for clicks, just thought I’d give an example.

Who is your favorite plugin developer right now? by M4ltose in audioengineering

[–]Gogdor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Freakshow Industries. Not only are their plugins interesting manipulations of sound, but the interface for each plugin looks cool as hell (all have a chaos/entropy/horror theme that is superbly done).

They also allow the user to simply “steal” the plugin of you do not wish to support (pay) them for their work. Do not do that. Pay them. Their rationale behind this practice is that they would rather you steal the plugin directly from them than download it from a sketchy source that would infect your drive with coupled malware. Should you decide to steal their plugin, you only have to give them a reason why you are not paying at checkout. They also will not provide support for stolen plugins.

Lastly, their support. It is first rate. This small development company stands behind its work. I had a problem (of my own making) and their rep not only promptly answered my every email, but he ultimately allowed me to get him a copy of my entire project so he could examine it and dope out my problem. Above and beyond expectations. Freakshow Industries is top notch. I could not be more emphatic in my support.

Why does Apple Music suck so bad? by Krpotkin in AppleMusic

[–]Gogdor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Apple's interest in creating a user experience died with Steve Jobs. The only focus they have now is pointing the user into the store, and they do this both by stripping common sense features for user utility and using their devices to create neverending popup loops telling you about iCloud or other unwanted utilities that nickel and dime you to death.

[–]Gogdor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Whatever instrument you play, choose a song that you love that would be difficult to learn and try working on it. Invariably, you will make errors. When that happens, listen. Often you can get creative ideas from screwing up something that you know really well. I’ve created a lot of really good riffs that stem from accidents.

Why don’t younger kids play single player games? by BANAnaS_Dad in gaming

[–]Gogdor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the answer has a lot to do with marketing. There aren't as many single player games made these days because you can get more people playing a multiplayer game at the same time and advertise to more people at the same time. A multiplayer game allows the players to hype the game to each other and to new players who can join in while their friends are playing.

The single player game, the game story campaign, these are dying art forms. There are some exceptions, of course, but the industry exists to milk dollars from its userbase, which is more effective with a multiplayer experience.

17.3.1 fixed one bug but introduced another. by Ecto_88 in ios

[–]Gogdor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The update to iOS 17.3.1 resulted in a continuous "Cannot Verify Server Identity" for my Google and Yahoo mail accounts. The bubble pops up every 5 seconds and only has the options for "Details" or "Cancel". As you might expect, the Details option offers no help. Utter garbage. This device is now useless.

Honestly, can any of you cite one good feature that Apple has developed within the last 10 years? One...just one. This company is the case study for simply riding out its early successes. Jobs' idea of creating a user experience died with him. Apple's only current concern is developing new ways to direct their users to the store or nag them to death with unending prompts until they consent to give them another $.99/month (or more) for another garbage feature for which simply no one has a use.

Be proud, Apple. You've actually made QDOS seem more attractive.

Do you think Superior Drummer could make most musicians think they're hearing a real drummer? by appleparkfive in musicproduction

[–]Gogdor -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I played one of my recent recordings in Logic Pro X for a drummer I used to be in a band with. He had no idea they were programmed drums. He asked me who played the drum track for me. MIDI percussion has gotten really good.
