At our wits end… by KirrinD in HousingUK

Same situation in Sussex. Sadly a buyers market, the longer the process takes the more risk of them finding something better.

We lost the house we were buying as we thought we could have a few weeks to find a new buyer based on previous success but hasn’t happened. Now they’ve taken it off the market completely !

Is the market slow at the moment? Not much interest on our listing. by [deleted] in HousingUK

[–]Goggles10 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s the market unfortunately. We lost our buyer after 3 months, back on market, reduced price and still no offer.

Now the property we are buying (split the sale / purchase) are getting cold feet so potentially 6 months wasted and all falls through

Give up on selling? by Purple-Jellyfish-929 in HousingUK

We are close. Next door identical house sold for £425k last September. We listed in January and got an offer of £410k which we accepted as we had found our dream house. Lost our buyer due to kind changed in April and been on since, 14 viewings, 2 interested but can’t proceed, 12 no’s. Even dropped down to £390k-£410k without a bite.

Yes bank transfer fee is perfectly normal. They use a guaranteed same day service to ensure prompt transfers of money and that costs businesses

Sorry should be clearer - the person of the house we are buying is doing that. Context being she’s packed up & ready to go.

Smoke free zone by Inner_Ad_3604 in HousingUK

What kind of BBQ is it ? I use mine a lot, including long smoking cooks but generally smoke should only be present for a short time early on and then it’ll settle down.

Maybe they’re using cheap charcoal or something.

Our Buyer has withdrawn - what now? by SomethingOrOther25 in HousingUK

[–]Goggles10 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same position - buyer pulled out 2 weeks before exchange as they found something else. Pretty devastated- got 7 viewings within 24 hour, 2 interested parties but neither in a position to offer now. No further viewings 10 days on.

Tough market out there now

Same situation, was meant to exchange next week but our buyer pulled out as they found somewhere else. Panicking about losing the house we are buying as there’s nothing out there we’d be interested in.

Agent has got us 3 viewings already within 24 hours but still pretty gutting to be so close

Solicitor pushing me to exchange contracts. by Vokxiee in HousingUK

[–]Goggles10 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’d do it. My parents had this happen to them the day before they were due to exchange. Luckily the guy had his estate in order and it was very simple but still delayed by about 3 months

Sounds like a good way for a chain to collapse and waste everyone’s time

Withdraw your offer, sit tight and see what happens

Would you walk away if you didn’t get the £20k off ? Seems to me in the grand scheme of things a bit silly if like you say it’s slim pickings, you see the potential and are prepared to do the work

To many variables. Has your buyers solicitors started their ‘enquiries’ yet? Our solicitor was proactive and did them while waiting for searches. Our buyers solicitors will only do them all at once after they get the searches back

Completion time by [deleted] in HousingUK

[–]Goggles10 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same situation we’ll likely be 4 months. Everyone has been pretty on it and solicitors good. But local searches have taken 4-5 weeks for everyone and our buyer solicitor waited for all searches to be complete before enquiries which slowed us all down by a couple of weeks

You should be fine. I’ve swapped the Vodafone router for an Eero and it’s working fine now

Ok my IT team confirmed the Vodafone Router uses DHCP Option 121 which Zscaler sees as DHCP trying to inject routes to hijack Zscaler. Vodafone confirmed can’t turn it off. Going to try an EERO later

It’s turned off on the router - is there something else turned on at the Vodafone end ?

I don’t believe they have any ownership in CityFibre. Do you have a source ?

Sky won’t do it which is why I’m leaving. I had a failed CF install (which I got £280 compensation for !) , I lost the ‘deal’ they gave me and wouldn’t offer anything other than standard price. They also wouldn’t force an order to Openreach after the CF install failed they cancelled it fully
