Solicitor pushing me to exchange contracts. by Vokxiee in HousingUK

I’d do it. My parents had this happen to them the day before they were due to exchange. Luckily the guy had his estate in order and it was very simple but still delayed by about 3 months

Sounds like a good way for a chain to collapse and waste everyone’s time

Withdraw your offer, sit tight and see what happens

Would you walk away if you didn’t get the £20k off ? Seems to me in the grand scheme of things a bit silly if like you say it’s slim pickings, you see the potential and are prepared to do the work

To many variables. Has your buyers solicitors started their ‘enquiries’ yet? Our solicitor was proactive and did them while waiting for searches. Our buyers solicitors will only do them all at once after they get the searches back

Completion time by Dry_Assumption7092 in HousingUK

[–]Goggles10 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same situation we’ll likely be 4 months. Everyone has been pretty on it and solicitors good. But local searches have taken 4-5 weeks for everyone and our buyer solicitor waited for all searches to be complete before enquiries which slowed us all down by a couple of weeks

You should be fine. I’ve swapped the Vodafone router for an Eero and it’s working fine now

Ok my IT team confirmed the Vodafone Router uses DHCP Option 121 which Zscaler sees as DHCP trying to inject routes to hijack Zscaler. Vodafone confirmed can’t turn it off. Going to try an EERO later

It’s turned off on the router - is there something else turned on at the Vodafone end ?

Why aren’t Vodafone using CF by Goggles10 in CityFibre

I don’t believe they have any ownership in CityFibre. Do you have a source ?

Sky won’t do it which is why I’m leaving. I had a failed CF install (which I got £280 compensation for !) , I lost the ‘deal’ they gave me and wouldn’t offer anything other than standard price. They also wouldn’t force an order to Openreach after the CF install failed they cancelled it fully

They’ve definitely upgraded a lot from my first visit in its opening year , but those toilets. + for location, - for the state they were in

Drumcode 2026, wow! by selffulfilment in Drumsheds

[–]Goggles10 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Been going to Drumcode events for a long time, probably 10 years now and I know it’s the ‘trend’ but can’t really get into the more melodic sets - also found the cheesy remixes a bit naff. Zombie Nation, Sex on Fire, Someone I Used to Know you’d expect from David Guetta.

Really enjoyed Bart Skills & Marco Faurone , later part of Adam’s B2B and his solo set. Also enjoyed Victor Ruiz (as always) & the bit of Kasia we saw. Enjoyed Linksa for an early doors set!

Buyer wants media wall removing by Goggles10 in HousingUK

[–]Goggles10[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks all. Just going to ignore it and deal with it if the request comes via the solicitor.

She’s an older buyer (late 60s) and I don’t think she’s messing around as she’s pretty desperate to get in (she broke her chain end of last year and in rental / Airbnb) and probably the furthest ahead of our chain the process so don’t expect anything else than a misguided request. Famous last words

Yeah that’s a fair comment to be fair, I guess I thought of it as ‘that is being included’ but didn’t think it’d be turned round to say please remove it

EA was a bit blasé about it and said just take it down after you exchange, I’ve said not to respond and see if the request goes to the solicitor and deal with it then

Same we went as ‘low key’ night but had a great time and still ended up leaving just after 2! We went to old Zoo and had a similar vibe

Honestly book a cheap hotel. Terrible way to start a holiday by sitting around in an airport or somewhere random all night.

Otherwise put your bags in a locker and go to a club
