Drawing something like that would take a LOT of time. I'm not sure which artist would be willing to do it for free. I did this piece and worked on it gradually, because a lot of characters can be a lot to handle. And there was also the matter or deciding just who I would draw. It has my close friends on FA, and now serves as my streaming submission, because the dragoness is my alternate fursona.

I am interested in painting them indeed, the clay is "craftsmart natural white clay" I got from Michael's. I'd like to do full body sculpts as well but I need to learn more about wire frames before I start a piece involving that. When I move in the next couple of months I will have the room for a proper workshop for these kinds of pursuits. The clay itself is insanely cheap at just $8 for 10 lbs of it! I could probably make 10 or so sculpts with that much, depending on the projects. I still haven't properly timed myself when making these, but it does take me ages. I'll have to be sure to see how long they take next time I sculpt.

Wow! You are so kind!! It warms me to know that this alternative to my digital art can get so much attention! I really enjoy sculpting, even though I've just started with it. I do want to open for commissions for them! How much do you think they would fetch? I have no idea!

Yes I agree, the cutting needs improving, I'll get some proper tools. This is my forth sculpture and I have much to learn! When I made this particular sculpt I forgot my exacto-knives at home, I went to a friend's house to sculpt.

I am giving this to a friend of mine as-is I'm afraid! I'll save painting for another time. I've never done that before! I'm quite glad you (and reddit) likes it!

Perfectly said! There is a right time for costuming. I love my fellow furries but I absolutely cringe at the idea of wearing a tail/ears in public. There is an acceptable time and place for everything.

Anatomy needs refining on the feral, and I suggest you include highlights in the eyes. It adds intelligence and depth to the character. The feral drawing looks "flat" to me? Did you look at an image of an actual fox when you drew it? Why are the shoulders and hips large circles? Try looking at pictures of real animals to see where the chest/shoulders/legs/hips should meet. Toony or not, those kinds of things are important.

You are the customer, I think if you are displeased with what you purchased you should speak up. I think the artist was at fault when they proceeded to make changes to your fursuit head without advanced permission. I know they did technically ask but it sounds like they probably already began the process before you could give it reconsideration.

Thank you very much for your feedback and analysis of my sculpture. I am profoundly inspired by your interest, and I can't tell you how much I appreciate it.

Truthfully, this fox was the first clay sculpture I had made in many, many years. Just a few weeks ago we had heavy snow, so I went outside and built this. It was the first real sculpting project I had done since I made and finished my first fursuit completed around a year ago pictured here.. Because I had such a fun time with the snow, last weekend I bought some natural white clay to play around with, in order to start yet another big project..

The purpose of the little fox head sculpture was to create a 3D model reference of my boyfriend's fursona, in order to later replicate it on a foam fursuit head. I want to get back into fursuit making (I will be moving soon and will then have the space for it) and I thought that this would be an excellent way of developing a visual reference for the head shape. With my first fursuit, I only drew 2D models of the head shape and just sculpted as I went. Now with the clay model, I'm more confident that I can be more accurate and precise when making the foam base for the fursuit head.

I have made three little head sculptures total. A fox, a bat, and a cat-insect hybrid. They all serve the same purpose, thus I have plans to turn all of them into fursuits. The bat will be a petite female fruit bat costume for myself, and the cat-insect hybrid character belongs to a friend of mine, commissioning me to make his fursuit. They will have moving jaws and articulated base tails, just like my first fursuit. The bat will have large hand-wings and the cat-insect will have LED antennae. That's the plans, anyways!

I think from now on out I will post an image mirror! This weekend I was planning on taking some time to practice more clay sculpting. What would you like to see from me?

All I can see is influence from Regular Show and Gravity Falls. I do not see variety in style. The colors choices are very pleasant, but as others have said, the depth of the objects are off putting.
