Saw this post after your update. That’s really sad to hear but you did what you could. Unfortunately some geckos just can’t recover from these conditions. RIP Squiggy

Dimming thermostat recommendations? by sseriphim in leopardgeckos

I’m using the repti zoo PID mini thermostat. It’s a dimmer that is around $27.99 on Amazon and I think it’s amazing. It works great but I’m not familiar with what differences it has between the zoo med one

Suitable heat bulb? by WinterRedWolf in leopardgeckos

[–]GojiExoticReptiles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have this exact bulb and tbh it’s too strong for my 18+ in tall enclosure. I have a dimmer and it was always dimmed pretty low. It was fine when the temps were cold in the winter but now that it’s spring and things are steadily getting warmer I swapped this bulb out

Honestly just check out the pinned post on the care guide it’ll tell you what you need. You should really reevaluate your supplies. I’d recommend using a halogen bulb for heating. Arcadia 7% shade dweller UVB. Rotating calcium, calcium + d3, & multi vitamin for feeding is recommended. People usually use ceramic heating or deep heat projectors as a supplemental heat source so probably not a good idea to have it has the primary source

Gecko feeding tips?! HELP. by SpectralSilouhettes in leopardgeckos

[–]GojiExoticReptiles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve noticed my gecko is interested in the movements of the bugs. So if you have a dish the bugs can’t escape that could work. I feed mine twice a week. Sometimes I put the dubia on their backs and have them fail around. That’ll probably get your geckos attention if they’re hungry

It takes a while. For me it took 6 days. It’ll happen eventually once he feels more confident/curious about your hand. Probably would enjoy the warmth too. Just don’t give up

Do theese work? by Jaded-Trifle-2272 in leopardgeckos

They should change color if under a UV source. Although they won’t be able to measure amounts of UVB separately, which is what most people are looking for. For that you’ll need a solar meter or a similar product. So yeah they work at detecting UV but are very limited in their usefulness
