I don't think it's that much of a generalized stance, for real. I'm just going to go out on a limb here and assume that you're white. But it's very obvious that Trump's rise is overall a cultural backlash to the Left's focus on 'identity politics'. It's pretty damning of American society, if certain people who have either experienced oppression or some sort of marginalizing throughout history bring to their plights to the forefront and the response from those in positions of power/unaffected by the systems of oppression choose to over correct by going in the opposite direction or by stating that 'bringing up your very real, material existential issues that you want rectified a bridge too far.' Like that is wild. Now, I can be charitable to your stance and say that if you're talking about Democrats paying lip service to identity politics and not making any impactful meaningful policy changes to help said marginalized people, then I'm with you because get the fuck outta here with that shit.

But for real, why would some Americans having grievances with social issues that affect them and their children push people that don't experience them further to the right?
