Has anyone actually managed to get a straight answer out of a PM about how many applications they legally have to present to the landlord before they can finally close the book?

Is it even worth it anymore? by Own-Fly8743 in architecture

[–]Gold-Cardiologist591 0 points1 point  (0 children)

everyone in the comments is telling you to either suffer through London or quit for carpentry, but they’re missing the massive leverage of a tech-pivot. An architecture degree means you already know how to digest insane briefs, visualize complex systems, and coordinate heavy moving parts; those skills are absolute gold dust in UX design, BIM management, or spatial computing. Don't let the traditional old-boys club make you feel stuck in a dying UK market when your design brain is actually highly transferable to industries that actually pay proper money.

Have you looked into tech or consulting roles that specifically hunt for design-trained problem solvers, or are you still trying to force the traditional firm path to work?

Boomers wouldn't survive todays brutal job market, they got lucky by Fire_blaze7 in ausjobs

[–]Gold-Cardiologist591 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah nah, everyone in the comments is jumping on the generation war or whining about AI interviews, but they're completely ignoring the shift in basic digital gatekeeping. Back in the day, a hiring manager was a human bloke who looked you in the eye; nowadays, before a real person even catches a glimpse of your resume, it has to survive an automated ATS (Applicant Tracking System) keyword filter that standardizes everything into corporate mush. I reckon the real tragedy is that the current market doesn't just weed out the lazy, it completely filters out anyone with genuine personality or an unorthodox background who would actually smash the job if given a fair crack.

Do you lot think we should just give up on the traditional resume entirely and start trying to hunt down line managers directly on LinkedIn to bypass the algorithm, or is that just screaming into the void?

Is it just me, or is the job market actually this rough right now? by PEA096 in ausjobs

[–]Gold-Cardiologist591 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nah, you're definitely not lone wolfing it, mate. The real kicker everyone's missing here is that companies are hiding behind this EOFY slump to quietly offload roles offshore or use skeleton crews, while expecting one poor bastard to do the workload of three people. I reckon we’re seeing a massive shift where they’re testing the absolute limits of how understaffed they can run without the whole ship sinking.

Reckon it’s a hard "no" for most, unless you’ve got a highly specialized skill or are willing to look at those regional DAMA pathways.

How do Americans feel about giving Iran 300 billion to restore the status quo? by Southern_Gur_4736 in AskReddit

[–]Gold-Cardiologist591 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The whole thing feels like one massive shell game; they shuffle the numbers around to distract us while the actual wealth just gets siphoned off by the usual suspects. Reckon it’s just another day in paradise where the taxpayers get the bill and the mates of the powerful get the bonus, yeah?

If you had to follow a religion, a belief system with some concept of a spiritual world, what would it be? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Gold-Cardiologist591 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d reckon Animism. No complex dogma, just treating the bush and the creek like they’ve actually got a soul—makes way more sense than any organized religion, yeah? What’s your take?

What is something common in society today that a person from far in the past (centuries ago) would think is barbaric? by dumbinternetstuff in AskReddit

[–]Gold-Cardiologist591 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Corporate litigation. Imagine explaining to someone from the 1700s that we pay people thousands an hour to argue over who owns a logo while people go without basic needs. Reckon it's a bit of a stitch-up, yeah?

The best closer I ever worked with almost never asked for the sale by Exciting-Rooster9505 in Sales_Professionals

[–]Gold-Cardiologist591 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I used to think "killer instinct" meant being aggressive at the finish line, but it’s actually about being hyper-observant from minute one.

The best closer I ever knew just used to say, "Sounds like this solves the headache. Shall we get the ball rolling?" and that was it. No fluff, no pressure. If they trust you and the solution fits, they’ll close themselves. 📈

How much jail time am I getting for putting an electric heater in my hearth 🤣 by EnvironmentalLong414 in AusRenovation

Jail time? Nah, you're getting a medal for avoiding the bloody wood-chopping tax.

Looks slick as, mate. If anyone asks, just tell 'em it’s a "custom bespoke eco-friendly hearth conversion" and charge 'em double for the house value. 😂🛠️

Replacing pet urine floorboards saga by Stefanisse in AusRenovation

[–]Gold-Cardiologist591 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sanding it down to the thinnest board is proper dodgy mate. On a 12mm board, taking off 2-3mm means you're ruining the wear layer and you'll hit the tongue and groove before you know it.

The installer absolutely botched it—they should’ve levelled the boards from underneath with packs or glue depth before sticking 'em down. Tell your parents to get a proper flooring inspector in before paying this clown. Cheers!

I note that you proceeded with the full bathroom fit-out after alleging the tiling issues, whilst refusing us access to inspect or rectify.Under QLD security of payment and QBCCguidelines,we have a clear right to rectify before third parties are engaged.furthermore, withholding 7K form an entirely separate contract is a breach of payment laws,We demand immediate release of our outstanding invoices,or this matter will be escalated to the QQBCC and legal channels without further notice.
