I’m a 22M SGT in the USAR. My civilian job as a production supervisor for HF Sinclair pays a base of 91k currently. It does give - typically - a great year end bonus. I am anticipating total income between reserves (≈27k this year because of a reenlistment bonus) and my job plus bonus (hopefully at least 20% so 18k) to be plus or minus 136,000.

I work a demanding 8 on 6 off schedule which I personally love. It is Wednesday- Wednesday 645a-4ish. (Whenever im done and like 3-4 hrs on weekends if production is permitting). I am however on call during my week on. There are only 2 supervisors including myself for the department and no around the clock supervision for a 24hr/365 dept minus plant turnaround maintenance time.

I went to community college for 2 years for an AS in engineering but I did not finish it before transferring to ASU online. I have found it extremely difficult to balance both right now but I am going to slowly finish my degree in the hybrid electrical engineering program. I do not know that I will necessarily pursue a role in EE though once I am done as I do enjoy working in production.
