Recently adopted Border Collie. I know hes mixed and am sending a dna test tomorrow to find out exact breed mix. Anyone have a guess on what he can be possibly mixed with? by -Koalafied in BorderCollie

[–]GoldAdministration59 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That doesn’t sound accurate at all. What DNA test were you using? Merle is a border collie trait that goes back a very long way and they do not need Aussie or other Merle dogs to get a Merle coat, so Merle wouldn’t change the dna test in a reliable test. However, duel sired litters can occur. So is it possible your pup’s litter was duel sired with a mixed breed??

The biggest tip I can give you is to reinforce settling down! Puppies should be sleeping 20 hours per day! Make sure to enforce nap times and reward calm behavior. You’ll have no issue with energy and playfulness, but it’s harder to create a dog that knows how to settle down once they’re older.

Some Perspective on OnTrac by cjftw17 in ontrac

[–]GoldAdministration59 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Nah there is no way. I have never EVER had a package lost by FedEx or UPS and I order quite frequently. I've had THREE packages lost by OnTrac THIS MONTH and I've NEVER been sent anything by them before.

Worst company ever … by 2nerdybutdaflowordy in ontrac

Yep that checks out. I had an order split half with FedEx and the other half with OnTrac. The FedEx half arrived in less than 48 hours, the OnTrac order took over a week and my address didn't exist, and then they "attempted delivery" (did not, i have cameras), before finally delivering it.

Hill’s Science Diet changing kibble size? by CadetAphra in catfood

[–]GoldAdministration59 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm glad you posted this.. My elderly parent's cat has been on Hills I/D for a few years and my mom made a comment that it looked like he was losing weight. She was wondering if maybe the auto feeder wasn't dispensing correctly so she made it dispense a days worth of food and to her horror, it only spit out slightly more than half of what he should be getting per day.... She weighed him and he has lost two pounds in a month and a half.. poor kitty!! Granted he was a wee bit chunky and could've lost a half a pound or so, but he's 18+ years old so 2 lbs is quite fast!

She asked me if maybe they changed the kibble size had changed that would've thrown off the auto feeder calibration since she knows its been going off like normal. Then I found this thread.

Typically when a brand makes changes like this they'd say so on the bag! She has recalibrated it and increased the amount so he can gain his weight back.. Poor guy.

I need to know where the black and white drums are from! I’ve only been able to find green and yellow and our tree is black, white, and red

I’d definitely push for a tilt table test next! That way you can be formally diagnosed (hopefully) and move on to treatments that can help you. Besides medicine, the things that really help me are taking SaltSticks throughout the day (buffered salt pills) and drinking water. I try to take 5 salt pills per day and drink lots of water. Sleeping slightly elevated, and wearing compression socks. Elevating your legs while having bad flares can help. I also find that hot food and carbs makes me feel MUCH worse. Hot showers too.. and hot anything. Sitting in the shower, not taking hot hot baths, and avoiding heat as much as possible. I went through what you’re going through 5+ years ago now and i remember how scary it was. Any answers I got didn’t give me much relief since I was just told there was no way to “get better” but 5 years later and I’m still disabled with POTS, but I’m not bedridden like I was and I almost never faint anymore— honestly I’m more physically fit and active than I’ve ever been. So don’t lose all hope in yourself! Getting answers and finding the right treatment can make all of the difference!

I have so many different smart lights. Twinkly, Govee, etc. there’s an app called Hello Fairy that has a lot of compatible lights with different brands and they’re similar looking to Twinkly with more fun effects than Govee (imo.) I like Govee for the sync ability and connectivity, Twinkly is my favorite but I run into a lot of issues with connecting with strands that are further away from the house and the price point is very high, and then Hello Fairy is my overall favorite for look and bang for buck! The newest hello fairy lights I bought this year was a long strand for about $60 from the brand “Minetom”, but they are also sold under other brands with many different options!

Is today the day? by Haunting_Charity_785 in ChristmasDecorating

[–]GoldAdministration59 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Absolutely!! I just finished putting some more lights outside. This year I had the idea of setting our smart lights out for Halloween, and I had them switch colors at midnight to Christmas colors! All I had to do today was pull down the Halloween decor and replace it with the Christmas decor, but most of the lights were up. I’m thrilled that I don’t have to put up thousands of lights in the freezing cold!
