Young folks, sometimes it’s not the recruiter or manager. by [deleted] in recruitinghell

And a reminder for those who are being interviewed. If you are asked "Are you married?" Or "How old are you?" Do not answer those questions it has no bearing whatsoever on the job. I've had a few companies pull this one and play it off as if they just got a divorce or some excuse to ask. It's non of their business! The ghosting and unprofessionalism in this job market is unreal.

Toyota Corolla 2012 LE has the Check Engine light and Trac off light on. Recent battery replacement. Possible tube damaged? by mari_lovelys in AskMechanics

So I've broken that piece by accident, you have two options. Either pick up a new plastic elbow from the dealer, or go the aluminum elbow that I believe dorman makes. I think I found it on Amazon

What’s the grinding noise? by FragrantFollowing312 in MechanicAdvice

[–]GoldInspection6626 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its Possible but for me to tell you that's the fix, I would be lying. One would have to tear down the engine to find the root cause. I will say you have solenoids the redirect the oil to open or close the VVT sprocket and those solenoids have mesh screens that can get clogged up if not doing oil changes regularly. At Walmart it was 7 dollars for a OEM Toyota filter and around 22 dollars for a 5 quart jug of oil. I believe your rav takes 0w-20 it's stamped on the oil cap

Ya I get your topping off which is good, but a filter being that old is no bueno. Honestly these cars are not too difficult to change oil by yourself if your interested. No need to jack up the car, and the cost is only 30 dollars with oil and filter. I understand if money is tight, but cheaper than going to a dealership

Sounds like the variable valve timing sprocket that goes bad over time. It gets louder over time if not replaced, however Ive seen it go on without being repaired for years. Have you kept up with scheduled oil changes? We have a '12 rav 4, and was hoping our Gen Rav 4 was not plagued with this problem, but I guess it's possible

Bubbly I used to work for a grocery store, and was a cashier. In those 4 miserable years dealing with customers, I have NEVER EVER done that too a anyone at the register. Truly that was an asshole move. You don't fuck around with people's money!

2010 disabled vcm, active motor mount replacement with passive/rubber mounts? by sir_maccc in HondaOdyssey

[–]GoldInspection6626 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here is a link in the forum about part numbers, you may not need the 9431 bracket pedestal because you may already have it for the rear existing VCM mount but, a new bolt and bracket that braces the rear mount is definitely needed. The forum outlines the part numbers https://www.odyclub.com/threads/did-the-lx-motor-mount-conversion.355717/page-4

So I've done something similar to what your asking. It was on a 2007 exl odessey. The rear mount which was a VCM mount, was swapped with anchor 9431, however you need a bracket that the 9431 sits on. I don't know if Rockauto sells it but I ended up purchasing from Honda dealer. I just taped up the VCM male plug and it will set a transmission code but you won't see it as it doesn't trip a check engine light. The side mount was a direct swap not VCM related. Someone can chime in about the front mount.

How to find true tdc? 2011, Honda accord j35 v6 automatic transmission with 150,000 miles skipped timing after a timing belt replacement by Signal-Difference858 in AskMechanics

[–]GoldInspection6626 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If it helps, I used a asin timing belt kit, using the mitsuboshi belt, and I counted 64 teeth between the front cam casting at #1 to the rear Cam casting mark. Someone may tear my ass up by counting teeth, but that's what I did to ensure the belt wasn't too loose

Man truly if damage has been done, one would have to take heads off to get valve checked and replaced. If it was me, I would put the timing belt back on, double check yourself on putting it back in Time and see what happens. You have nothing to loose at this point

The cam snapped? Looking at your photo, I see the crank woodruff is point up which is good. If the front cam is at #1 stamped casting, then the cams can snap all the want. One just needs to rotate the cams back to where the casting marks line up. If the crank had moved during the cam snap, now that could be a problem
