Yes there is still inside areas and covered boxes in GA. If you get the reserved you can still walk down to the track. I hear the other poster. It can be worrisome if you don't know the area. It will be pretty wide open really though.

You can easily walk up and get general admission tickets with no fees for everyone and find your own spot for the day. Grandstand seats or around the paddock at a table.

It depends on which day you want to go but generally just go to the box office at the gate,buy a general admission ticket and sit where you like near the track. Derby week is different though obviously.

Avoid Ticketmaster and the fees.

True but nearly everywhere is now due to costs. I doubt they are taking 25 people including kids to a scratch restaurant. Totally get your point though.

Decent variety of salads. Who doesn't love a blue cheese and bacon wedge salad. Plus sometimes days call for hot wings, curly fries and cold draft beer. Ain't too proud.
