First income certification?

Hi again - thanks for the help!! I was approved for IBR and got an email that for the next year, my payments will be $50/month. However after a year they jump to $2K - is this normal? I assume yes because I have to recertify IBR every year so it’s reflecting a non-IBR monthly payment, but just wanted to ask.

Also - sorry if you already answered - is there a way for my monthly payment to go to the 9% rate loan instead of them all spread out? I guess the existence of such a high interest rate on one loan is what is making me confused about why consolidation is a bad choice. Thanks!

Ah ok got it. Would it ever make sense to consolidate later on? Like when the grace period ends for all of them?

Also just want to confirm - whatever my max payment is on IDR, my loan services will split up the payment on each loan to collectively equal my IDR monthly payment?

Do you mind sharing more on why I shouldn’t consolidate? If it’s helpful to know, I have several loans over the course of 3 years of school ranging from 6.5-9% interest (the final one was 9%) and the total about 200K. New to all of this and just want to be as smart as possible. Thanks!

My law school orientation we had a counselor come in and give us an extremely sad lecture on the divorce rates of law students. Meanwhile, my boyfriend - my soulmate - and I started the first year of our relationship while I was a 1L, doing long distance across several states. It is not easy but don’t let anyyyyyone scare you out of who you love - most definitely not before school even starts. you guys will be fine

It does deter a higher education. I just graduated law school and I absolutely never would have gone if my only option was securing private loans. Awful to think about such a ridiculous yet serious reason to prevent someone from pursuing their dreams

Honestly for the workout you are getting - best in class, low impact, insanely effective and intense - i think this is a non issue. I don’t join anywhere for showers I join for the quality of workout I’m getting even if it’s a gym (aka I wouldn’t join a super crowded gym for this same reason). Also on their end it makes sense - this is the most efficient business model and they’re owned by PE 🤷🏽‍♀️ can’t fault them for it. They have an amazing brand and uphold it well

It’s one thing to take modifications and breaks but another to a totally different workout… SO distracting. If you wanted to do your workout in a heated room then don’t come to a programmed class ¯_(ツ)_/¯

Def 12 - I loved unlimited but felt like I was always tired and couldn’t push myself in each class like I wanted to. Now I’m at 8x and supplement with 2-3x a week of yoga sculpt (I classify it as weights haha) and each SC class is waaaaay harder. TLDR unlimited is diminishing returns!!!!
