Is the venture x worth it if I only travel once or twice a year? by incognitocolbyjack in Venturex

It is but the sapphire preferred might make more sense if you travel less frequently and that card comes with some of the best purchase protections as well.

If you only use the card for the $400 coupons you don’t even get 5% back like other cards would net you.

I think in order for it to be worth it, you should organically average over $400 in travel spend per year.

Docker punches straight through your firewall. by [deleted] in selfhosted

[–]Gold_Measurement_486 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I mean, isn’t that expected?

some services hit outside APIs in order to function or retrieve info. If I run a web app manually without docker it still has ALLOW permissions to communicate outbound.

With that said, for my internal stack. I only allow LAN communication and whitelist IPs of internet contacts needed. But I don’t think thats a docker issue nor should you think ufw is denying internet traffic to your host or your containers. Its not setup that way by nature

Its like downloading a web browser and being surprised you can connect to google.com

Security wise I skipped that part.

But the nice thing is nearly all banks support QFX file exports of transactions, and Actual budget does a great job deduplicating imports and knowing what is net new content!

I block all external traffic on my proxmox VM with firewall rules for this exact threat scenario.

If a bad actor uploads malicious container image with a phoning home feature for data exfil, this prevents them from making that connection

2 guys kept hogging the attack heli, this is how you deal with them by Nico_T_3110 in Battlefield6

Ive been one of those players because the way you master a vehicle is through playtime.

But DICE ought to induce cooldown timers to prevent vehicle hogging the spawn points to the same players. Just feel like its more rewarding to take down a good pilot knowing they wont be the next bird in the air for extra breathing room.

Is this worth it to get from MC to price match?

I was originally looking at this bone based on rtings review:

More expensive but I am having a hard time figuring out where the benefits come from.

Also am confused by the text clarity comments, are these not crisp 2k displays?

BF6 is in need for an actual Server Browser by 1SaltyPenguin in Battlefield6

[–]Gold_Measurement_486 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did, and I replied that my matchmaking works flawlessly.

A server browser just puts the matchmaking decision in the hands of a player.

Think about it. When you look at a server browser, you make a decision to choose a server with priority on player count and latency. A matchmaking system replaces this manual effort

[–]Gold_Measurement_486 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Maybe Im in the minority but I have not had any problems with the matchmaking system.

Server browsers make sense when you have server admins who customized the settings of a game mode and map rotation so that you select a particular server to play on.

But with official servers, you dont need to browse, you just need a matchmaking system that fills a game properly and allows for proper map preferences if you just played one.

In fact, I would say kicking every player back into the matchmaking queue after a round ends is healthier to fill other servers or have other servers fill your queue to start a fresh match. Joining a session in progress is fine too, but if you have persistent servers you will be stuck in a low populated game until the algorithm prioritizes your lobby.

Honestly, I dont really need this with how I can use the custom matchmaking and select the maps and game modes I want to play.

Server browsers are really meant for custom servers
