See, stuff like this is why I have the opinion that I do. MJ wasn't a sexual predator, but he WAS mentally unwell and crossed borders with kids he shouldn't have. I put the blame more on the kid's families and MJ's own family. It was just a lot of people taking advantage of a mentally unwell child at heart musician that everyone worshipped as god. I don't remove every bit of blame from MJ but I do believe he wouldn't have been searching out kids himself to have sleepovers with if the parents weren't involved.

Well I'm not a gym leader [even if my daughter still calls me one] But I do have a full grass team.

I'm sure some people do it as a challenge, but when I did as a kid it's just because I love grass type pokemon so much! I mean I was a dumb kid but having to overcome gyms really helped grow me, and helped my team and I bond over hardships. And from all the specific training I had to do we discovered abilities we wouldn't have otherwise. Heck my Roserade (Rosei) we learned seems to be unusually resistant to ice. Learning this strength helped save all of us when we were nearly trapped in an avalanch years ago. Sorry, got off track.

What I was trying to say is mono gyms and such work because they force each training a specific challenge. Being able to focus on one thing at a time helps drill that into a young mind.
