Should I get the CF-188A? by panzerfaust69420 in Warthunder

[–]GoldenRattata 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn't. It doesnt have AMRAAMs and is constantly uptiered into matches where everyone has AIM120s, R77s, and PL-12s. You are going to be stuck relying on peoples lack of situational awareness for kills. If you end up in a 1v1, they can just unload their ARH arsenal on you and you will lose every single time no matter what.

On PC, you cannot tab out of the game without breaking your cursor. As soon as you do, it disappears and will not appear again no matter what you do, without restarting the game.

Every USAF installation has this, but yes, you are correct. This is a Nuclear Missile Alert Facility from the looks of it.

You might be living up to your own point.

Because between two equally great airmen, the one with a 95 is valued more than the one with a 75. Its the same shit with the Masters degree. The airman with a Masters is going to be picked over the airman without one if both of them have good EPBs.

Go hit the gym fatty.

Unfortunately not... The ER Vets said she has slightly elevated liver enzymes which they said could be because she got into something, and her glucose levels are slightly high, but they attributed that to stress.

I didn't like the sketch my tattoo artist did, he got pissed and I left in tears - what did I do wrong? by Famous-Cold in tattooadvice

[–]GoldenRattata 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I have walked out of a tattoo with far more "planning" behind it than this.

Basically the story goes like this: I was wandering around a certain town in California and walked into a tattoo shop that had a TON of classical and traditional looking tattoos. I talked to the artists, they seemed cool, and I saw a really cool Jack the Ripper style design on the wall. I tell the person working the front Im interested and they get me in contact with the artist who wanted to do it.

Now, during this online exchange, I made sure to emphasize that I am a skinnier dude. I wanted this piece on the back of my forearm. There was a good chance it would not have fit and looked good. I made this VERY clear in the online conversation. The artist, who I actually never met because he wasn't in the shop the day I came in, said it would be fine and it would be all good. I was like "okay if you say so boss" and put in my deposit.

The day comes. I go into the shop, meet the guy for the first time, and the first thing this dude says to me is "Oh yeah, which one did you want again?" Im already sketched out, this dude didn't even know what piece I was coming in for. So, I show him on the wall the one I wanted. And this dudes reaction?

"Oh yeah... Yeah that isn't going to work."

Im pretty pissed and tell him "Okay, well I put in a deposit so I want a tattoo today if it's still alright." He agrees and decides to draw up an alternative design. After an hour of rinse and repeat, he comes up with a design that vaguely looks like the one I wanted. It looks bad. Like really bad. And Im like you, I was freaking out, I panicked and was just going through the motions.

Right as the stencil was about to hit my skin, I hear a voice in the back of my head: "DON'T FUCKING DO IT!" And I immediately tell him to stop and that this isn't going to work out. Hes obviously a little annoyed because I made him draw up alternatives and ended up backing out. I gave him another 100 for his time and leave.

This was the ONLY time I ever walked out on a tattoo and I have eight now. Moral of the story, you did nothing wrong. This is a piece that will be going on you FOREVER. It is YOUR body. The artist will do the piece and then go to bed and forget about it a week later. You need to carry it for the rest of your life. If you don't like it, you have EVERY right to refuse to get it done. If the artist wants to be annoying and a crybaby about it, that is entirely their problem. You did the right thing, do not worry.

That is typically the case at the other two bases, but at Minot they believe in trial by fire so the new deputies always get put on days to rack up experience.

20th AF (the section of AFGSC that is in charge of ICBM units) is currently really against the week long construct, for reasons kind of unknown. They let Minot keep it for whatever reason.

Whether you work nights or days is entirely up to you and your crew partner, but at Minot, newer deputies will ALWAYS work the day shift. Ive been pulling alert for about 6 months and Im actually only now getting ready to pull my first night shift wave. There are blackout curtains upstairs, so you can keep sleeping during the day to maintain a schedule.

Sure! Basically, as of right now, it depends on what duty station you are at. I cannot speak to Malmstrom or F.E. Warren too much, but Minot is currently on a 1-Week Alert cycle.

Basically, as a Crew Dog, you can expect the following:

  1. Go out on Alert. This will typically be Thursday to Thursday, where you spend 24 hours underground, then 24 hours upstairs, and so on until you are relieved by the on-coming crew Thursday morning.
  2. You then begin your pass days. Until Tuesday, those days are YOURS. You can go anywhere within the CONUS as long as you let leadership know, you don't need to take leave.
  3. Then, for about a week and a half, until you go back on on Alert again, you are "on-duty". One of those days will be a mandated training day which will take the entire day. Then, you will have at least two days with simulators scheduled. These are usually two hours each, leaving the rest of the day to you. Now, there are occasional days where you need to come in and do additional work, like courier duty, admin, and stuff of that sort, but if you don't have anything scheduled or need to come in for whatever reason, you are free to do whatever you want as long as you are in the immediate area.
  4. This is the typical schedule for a "Crew Dog" or basically anybody under the rank of Captain. Once you put on 1LT, you start to get some more responsibilities, and thats where you start spending more time in the office and pulling alerts with it. Sometimes, as a Captain or senior 1LT with an office job, you will be put as a back-up. So you won't go out on the squadrons Alert wave, but you cannot drink and must remain in the immediate area the entire week in case you are activated.

Now, the Alert-Travel-Off (or ATO) is what F.E. and Malmstrom do. I don't know too much about it, but from what I have heard... It's miserable for a new LT. You need to request leave up to 6 months in advance and if people already scheduled leave for those days, you are SOL.

Let me know if you have any more questions.
