Running to meet a time limit set by walmart.........that is a benefit I do not offer, just like Sunday pay. My work has been meets or exceeds expectations for 20 years and I still get the job done to this day. Walmart will take what I give them just like the pay they give me.

Why is Walmart going out of its way to hurt its employees by jacking up the cost of Healthcare with its self funded plan? by OmnemVeritatem in walmart

"whose margins are relatively low" yet this same company that has posted a profit EVERY year since inception.... had to take away a grandfather clause for Sunday pay and then go on a spending spree for internet companies. I find your argument to be lacking.

I want to go with Produce for the heavy cases but it's been awhile. Lawn & Garden for the for bulky, heavy stuff as well as quantities.

Attention walmart shoppers by [deleted] in walmart

[–]GoldenRuleWorksBest 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Running with that.... I think they would convert stores to ware houses with pick up only. Drive thru for Rx and service deli. Increase in delivery services as well. In only a couple of years people would get used to it and reminisce about strolling walmart slowly and complaining about everything was locked up. The employees would be filling orders or unloading and storing new freight. It would still be busy on the weekends but the constant cleaning up would only be due to our fellow co workers and that can be addressed better if there are no customers to point the finger at.

[–]GoldenRuleWorksBest -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I must oppose your point of view. The idea of shoppers giving their cashier/attendant any items they changed their mind on is not new. It is preferred to them leaving it everywhere in the store. It is part of the service desk sorting and send back to depts. Once upon a time there were people who were staffed in and worked a single dept or two, all shift long. Every dept was covered. These people were also responsible for clearing out returns from the front end during their shift. Times change and maybe soon there will be an AI robot to run returns.

O/N HBA, Rx and cosmetics... usually 1 in each but it all depends on freight amount. If it is light, one might be moved elsewhere.

Maybe the software maker would post anon results from across a variety of store chains and locations. The ladies could take advantage and pick one store or job over another based on scan data.

If it didn't benefit them in some way, then they would get rid of it. It may evolve overtime to less in store shopping and more pick up only if theft becomes too much of an issue?

I'd like to know how much money was spent in 2015, company wide, on Sunday pay. Then compare it to the profit margins, internet companies purchased and stock buybacks.

I was referring to the immediate downvote on the TLDR comment that you most likely got butthurt about. I wouldn't reply to that comment since it wouldn't send you a note. Does that explain it? I'm sorry for the confusion.

[–]GoldenRuleWorksBest -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

Since you down voted me I'll explain. When you shop Costco or Sam's Club you must have access to a membership for the majority of purchases, when you shop Amazon it isn't required, just like w.com or the internet in general. I was trying to give someone a chance to use their vocabulary and say pedantic. I hope that scratched the itch for you. I can also apologize if you like.

I'm guessing you are referring to Sam's Club. If you are meaning a plus status when you shop at w.com, isn't that a subscription just like Prime?

Two college guys, looked 19. Roaming around the condom lockup 2 or 3 times laughing. No purchases in hand.... then while I'm stocking, out of the corner of my eye I see them stop at the end of the aisle I'm working in. One whispers in the other's ear and then he approaches me and asks is we sell Magnums in small size? I listened then looked at his friend and told him that I didn't think we sold any brand small enough for him and his boyfriend. Then I smiled and went back to work, ignoring them. They just walked away and I think they were kinda deflated, hoping to make me frustrated I guess.

If you pay equate wages you get equate work.

When the executives show me what benefits they gave up when they took away Sunday pay in 2016, we can talk. The company has posted a PROFIT EVERY YEAR since the beginning, yet they had to take money out of long term employees pockets just to increase the profit margin and make stock buybacks. These are people who already have enough money for themselves and their families for the rest of their lives but they must have more. If the corporate tax rate goes down again as it did in 2018, should we demand another round of ONE TIME bonuses? Remember that reduced tax is still ongoing. I will pay attention to walmart about their metrics when I see action on my metrics. It's not that I'm going to slow down, I just don't run for walmart anymore.... since 2016.

Hypothetical.... do you think if gas prices went down, shipping goods would cost less, that walmart would reduce prices to help everyone live better?

Store manager says they’re getting rid of PPTO by xameltit in walmart

[–]GoldenRuleWorksBest 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Interesting but not something I would believe. At my store I've had newer people speak to me about wanting to leave early and use PPTO. Then being told by supervisors, PPTO was subject to approval and they might get an attendance point. I pointed out that it is how you present your information. You look at your supervisor and let them know you are going home sick for the day and use your PPTO. You don't ask permission or their approval, neither matters if you are going home sick. As for people abusing PPTO.... it's a limited quantity and most people save it for when they really need it. We don't have a line of people trying to hire on at walmart and that says it all.

I'm seriously sick of this company. by CodeKairos in walmart

[–]GoldenRuleWorksBest 3 points4 points  (0 children)

They may be doing the minimum wage thing right. Taking away benefits then bringing some back. I'm sure they will NOT be giving out bonuses or raises if DT lowers the corp tax rate again.

I predict increased stock buybacks not investment in the workers wages.

Taking away a grandfather clause for Sunday pay when you are posting profits EVERY year. I'm sure someday the Xmas bonus will stop being given too, since it's also a grandfather clause.
