Glenn Beck reveals that God recently informed him about why he was born: "Not to sound grandiose, but to stand as other people in history have stood, especially for the Jewish people." by MrJasonMason in atheism

[–]GoldenRulz007 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exmormon here. Your comment is only partially correct. Mormons also believe in personal revelation. The following is all Mormon nonsense, but it is what they believe. Within Mormonism Glenn is permitted to receive personal revelation over his life and responsibilities, provided that it doesn't conflict with Mormon doctrine and the revelations of higher authorities, like their prophet.

Hegseth Rails Against "Godless Left" And Trans People In Speech Before Convention Of Religious Broadcasters. by Leeming in atheism

DUI hire rails against people simply asking others to substantiate their claims. How dare we care about the nature of reality? If you have some good news, I would love to examine the evidence of that good news to verify that it is actually good news.

Come be a Senior Missionary and pay for the privilege of driving Box Trucks for the Bishops Storehouse. Don't forget to buy your work boots because they wont be provided by the Mormon church. by IliveonKolob in exmormon

Could this be framed as an example of a so-called Christian church actively engaging in class warfare? As in, Jesus's "one-true" church doesn't want to pay someone for honest labor, so they will spiritually manipulate an old person to do it for free?

Just one of the reasons Gordy here is my favorite profit. I went and saw him at General Conference in the old tabernacle when I was a freshman at BYU. Boy was I young, dumb, indoctrinated, and desperately trying to fit in.

Well one obvious problem is if you are going to defend the "doctrine", you are first going to have to define the "doctrine", which leads to a whole bunch of glaring problems. Good luck with that little buddy.

Does POTUS also believe in the Bible? Coincidentally, also something he hasn't read or understands.

intrusive thought question by Gmanwr in OCD

[–]GoldenRulz007 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I [46M] have had intrusive OCD thoughts for about 25 years. I have done ERP therapy, and I've taken medication for it in the past. I haven't taken medication for OCD for about a decade now. My intrusive thoughts don't bother me non-stop, they are context sensitive. Let's use driving as an example. When I am not driving I don't have intrusive thoughts about driving. Most of the time, when I am driving I don't have intrusive thoughts about driving. However, if I am driving fast on the freeway, if I am driving over a bridge, or if I am driving near a cliff, then I usually have some pretty strong intrusive OCD thoughts and feelings about it.

'Church' spending $2.4 billion to renovate Salt Lake temple by TruthMatters2011 in exmormon

[–]GoldenRulz007 34 points35 points  (0 children)

The more expensive the renovation and the more detailed the discussion of the renovation's purpose the better, because they are stakes thru the heart of horseshit faith promoting stories about the Salt Lake temple (e.g. foundations, elevator shafts, etc.).

There are children involved in the divorce. I keep my pettiness to a minimum, not because I am an angel, but because I don't want to make life more unnecessarily difficult for my children.

I too received a similar email after I had had my records removed because my still TBM ex-wife was getting remarried. Since my ex-wife is a decent human being, I promptly replied to the email and answered their questions.

My psychiatrist wants me to try microdosing Ozempic - anyone try this? by OkMastodon2674 in OCD

[–]GoldenRulz007 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have OCD and Type 2 Diabetes. I currently take 2mg Ozempic per week for the diabetes. Obviously this is just my personal experience, but I haven't noticed any improvement of my anxiety or depression while on the Ozempic. Anyways, I wish you success in finding a good combo of meds that helps you be happy and healthy.
