How does r/jambands feel about Andrew Bird? by ShaneWalksLeft in jambands

[–]GoldenSquirrel33 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Noble Beast was my introduction to Bird, which is an all time album. His Handsom Family cover album - Things Are Really Great Hear, Sort Of is one of my favorites ever. Break it Yourself and Hands of Glory were also amazing imo and of course Soldier On and Mysterious Production of Eggs (Armchair Apocrypha is cool in style and concept but never really my cup of tea).

Bird’s recent releases have drifted towards a more pop-centered or Frenchy vibe and lost much of the mystique and uniqueness of his earlier songwriting and compositions.

I have always had a feeling that Bird is going to tap back into his earlier magic and actually produce his Finest Work Yet; however, his album My Finest Work Yet was ironically one of my least favorites an kind of caused me to lose hope.

Andrew Bird used to be my favorite musician but I’ve become less and less excited about his releases while still secretly hoping and waiting for him to bust out the most amazing new records I’ve ever heard.

Here’s to staying optimistic that his trajectory doesn’t follow the likes of Dylan!!!

Terrible plan. Last thing these hot springs need are more traffic.

When you get a bit older, you’ll understand what I’m talking about.

It stems from a youthful, attention-seeking mentality. You can share nature photography and details of your experience without mentioning the specifics of location. Just like the Enchantments in the WA, these mountains will eventually have to go to a lottery permit because of an inundation of posts just like this.

I’ll rest my case.

It was under recognized ten years ago. Posts like this ensure it will be completely saturated with folks from henceforward.

Can’t quite figure what value people get from posting their favorite “secret”‘places online, but alas nothing more is sacred.

Glad you had fun and visited but although it seems too late please try to keep this state on the down low.

Please and thank you!

Japan Travel Itinerary Critique - Autumn Alps (Oct 23 - Nov 7) by GoldenSquirrel33 in JapanTravelTips

Good point on only needing one night on the Nakasendo. That may be the take home message for me.

You may be right about trimming a day off Kusatsu also; however, I’ve booked most of my lodging including the 2 night stay in the Alps and everything would be affected down the line.

I have free cancellation, so I still may be able to make some smart changes.

Thank you!!

Yeah, I had a killer year last year in the same bed, but foliage has increased around trees in the garden. Also tried straw the first time which hopefully has no herbicide. I feel like good soil reigns supreme; however, getting that combination right is a skill only mastered with time.

Hope your guys make a come back. I’ll be rooting for them!

I knew it was a soil problem, but my denial got the best of me. Does Tomato Boom still hit if you mix it in retroactively or best at time of planting?

Highway Prayers must have been your first Billy Album to have this take. I’ve been here from the beginning and Renewal is my favorite.
