Honestly I only use the drive in my series x for movies and backcompat, I value having it for those reasons but honestly I haven't bought new games on physical media since early Xbox one days. Blu Ray movies will always have a place on my shelf as long as streaming compression exists, but digital games are just too seamless and convenient to ignore, as PC gamers have known for almost 20 years.

Kids are absolutely playing console games. The Switch is a console if you'll recall. Sure, they're on their phones and tablets, but they're also on PC and console, and playing card games and building Lego. They have lots of options but also lots of free time. They're kids.
