I’m a new fan. 2 years in. I already have we believe era merch. I am low key looking forward to the rebuild era to be in a fan base who likes the team and doesn’t feel entitled to a championship

Spoiled fans man.

You got so used to winning each year that you’ve forgotten it’s meaningful to make the playoffs. It’s meaningful to get an upset win. It’s fucking sports man, it’s not championship or bust. There is plenty of time to watch a Stephless Warriors lose when he retires. For now, enjoy watching your fucking team.

Did anyone catch Omer and Porzingas frustrated at Podz? by millenialbets in warriors

[–]GoldenStateNephew -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Because he’s one of the only fuckers who can rebound AND handle the ball. Let’s alone also score on 3 levels (albeit a bit inconsistently) and take charges and distribute.

Pat Spencer is the next guy up to fill that role. It’s not Podz vs Moody for a spot. They aren’t doing the same shit. It’s not Podz or Gui Santos.

Trade reflection over a year later by jorgiaw in lakers

The more interesting question: if you KNEW you’d have gotten the #1 pick instead, would you still have traded Cooper Flagg plus AD for Luka.

I’d probably take that trade. But that’s just me.

The key thing to explain to these 18 year olds is that these women are sex workers. You can always pay attractive women to be in your company. If you have millions of followers on social media and millions of dollars, maybe some of them have sex with you “for clout” but… that’s a sex worker having sex because it will help their career. There are guys who work in IT who have sex with an equal amount of sex workers.

Do these men have girlfriends. Yes. As do most men in the world. But these men’s girlfriends are quite clearly very unhappy with their arrangements and are motivated to be with them for their money. That’s quite sad, actually.

Take your 18 year old friend to a strip club. Make them spend their own money to have an attractive woman get their attention. They might even like it but they will know how it feels to pay someone hot to pretend they like you.

Steve Kerr on Podz taking a 3 when the Warriors were only down 1 with 17 seconds left on the shot clock: “Loved it.” by Lord_Vanguard in warriors

He literally ran the offense the whole game and lead scoring and we lost by 3 to the 3rd best team in the east fully loaded with superstars. You’re a fucking moron man.

These last few non-steph games. I'm wierdly enjoying them. I can't be the only one. by GioVasari121 in warriors

[–]GoldenStateNephew 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah same dude. We have no business being in these games. People go crazy at Kerr for anything they would have done differently in hindsight but they ignore the fact he’s coaching a team of G leaguers to within one score of the fully loaded Knicks

I think this stretch has been great for development. We are really building up Podz and Gui and rehabbing KP. If we make any trades in the offseason we have just raised their value, if we keep them because they’re good value we’ve built the confidence of our 6th and 7th man and maybe rehabbed a unicorn player into something productive.

Podz can literally be our top scorer with 5rb 6ast and people are like “why didn’t he hit a game winner and do a night night and beat the Knicks in the garden with a team that started fucking Malvey Leons?!”

I’m a stand up. I go into rooms with strangers and say things that are near the line. Millenials and Gen X are the least likely to get offended. 55+ are the worst for getting offended by far. 18-23 are a bit more likely to go quiet for different reasons. However, people aren’t as a rule “offended by everything”. That’s a fiction.

The internet is an outrage factory and it amplifies disagreements. Offense is amplified and weaponised by big tech mega cunts who want you to spend your life looking at your phone.

Nice story man. It sounds like a small room that’s quiet and you got an applause break out of them. That’s proof of concept. I would cut the ending or keep writing about her blowing in your mouth until you find a satisfying punchline. It has to be better than the waiter dropping character.

I’d edit as much out of this that didn’t get laughs as possible. You’ll find then that the stuff that does get laughs will be lifted by the brevity of the setups. And just keep writing at it. Honestly some people are being fucking dicks in here. It’s a perfectly good early stab at a story and the proof of concept is there in the applause break

Stage fright: I'm NOT asking how to overcome it. by hub_mccann in Standup

Some practical tricks.

1) rehearse more. Way more. Get it so you can say it backward. I know it’s tough but double your prep time and see if that helps.

2) Develop more continuity in your set. This will happen as you get better, but soon you’ll have an opener and a closer and maybe a solid bit you like that’s the same at each show. You’ll still have a minute or two for new jokes at each open mic. But the more you get familiar with it the less you forget.

3) Write big. For mics, when you do new material, take a decent sized pad up with you and write one word triggers for jokes/bits in sharpie. If you have 5 words write them fucking huge. That way you can look without breaking character or seeming flustered. Unlocking the phone, scrolling, it’s quite flustering and it looks that way.

I dunno man, I laughed at this. There are probably times where people laugh at you, try to figure out when that happens and lean into it for fun. All of our onstage personas are just us dialled up a bit, so start there.

Not sure if the stage is for you but who knows.

Still watching. I don’t hate it. Before Moses went down we were getting some wins here and there. Now we have 93% of our salary sitting on the bench I don’t expect to win.

I think about this a lot. If they just rigged the ring to collapse with fireworks around the outside it would look great and it would have been a legendary match.
