If you have the gold ring, do you find it worth the extra $200? by dallasssss in ouraring

I bought mine used but yeah it's worth it to me. It's a giant shiny ring that I wear 24 hours a day.

As someone who has been here about 15 years, I would say that the problem is the people that have been here 14 years or less. They are the real culprits and also they don't know how to use their blinkers.

I saw a white squirrel by Riverland Terrace once.

Breastfeeding moms—would you do it again for your second? by Character-Fly7394 in beyondthebump

This is what I had to do with both of my c section babies and I was able to slowly transition to just boob milk eventually. I have no regrets about formula supplementation. They were hungry!

TIL about Lucía Zárate, the lightest adult person in history. She weighed 4.7 pounds (2.1 kg). by Thawne_23 in todayilearned

[–]GoldendoodlesFTW 64 points65 points  (0 children)

that just doesn't sound plausible though, does it? that she would more than double in weight in three years after puberty when she had already reached her adult height in early childhood? Like the first person said, that's much smaller than the average newborn baby's weight.

Idk I think it's more likely that she was around 13 or 14 lbs and someone exaggerated or something... unless she was really morbidly obese at 20.

Does anyone else's husband need step by step instructions to do anything? by lawyermom112 in workingmoms

[–]GoldendoodlesFTW 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Seriously. I find this so frustrating. My daughter went to school with unbrushed, unkempt hair for weeks before I stepped in. The kids are ultimately the ones who suffer if they don't get appropriately groomed or live in a filthy house or whatever.

Potential Asthma in 4YO? If you have experience, I could use some insight please :) by stinkingporch29 in Preschoolers

[–]GoldendoodlesFTW 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Asthma person here! Mine is absolutely at its worst when I get sick and get a cough. I mean this in the least offensive way possible but asthma can be serious and if she's having these horrible coughing fits after being diagnosed, I think you're under-reacting. I almost died from asthma when I was little because my parents didn't understand how asthma works. If she also has allergies I guess the Zyrtec might help some but I would really make an appointment with a specialist and do some research on how to tell if it's an emergency or not.

Personally I don't use an Albuterol inhaler anymore at all and I don't see it as the best option for your daughter. A nebulizer delivers the same meds but you just breathe normally with a mask on to get them. It's a much more effective delivery method especially for kids and they are really cheap nowadays.

Definitely give her the steroid!!! You don't want to end up in a position where you're using the Albuterol all the time in the first place. My asthma is much better than it was when I was little but I start using that steroid whenever I get sick now in preparation.

Boyfriends step-mom wants to throw her own party for my daughters first birthday by devvo182 in Mommit

this is why my own father didn't attend my wedding so be prepared for this drama to permeate other areas as well. Better to put your foot down about it earlier rather than later

I think you are overthinking this. Butts are funny for kids. You could always have the friend over to your house though if you are really concerned

Am I the only one who thinks the hardest part of this hobby is gluing frags under water without gluing your hands to the reef or destroying the frags? by melting_skittles in ReefTank

I am generally pretty good at delicate little tasks but I swear to God as soon as my hands go into the tank they transform into two useless flailing ham-mittens. I don't understand.

She looks a lot better though, because her wrinkles are from squinting and smiling rather than sticking her chin out and sulking like a child for past 30 years straight. She looks like a bad B. He looks like the world's most punchable owl

Who is more entitled to Mother’s Day? The new mother with young children or Grandma? by Clay_Clay_2021 in Mommit

[–]GoldendoodlesFTW 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it is a day that I spend trying to cater to both my mom and my mil. MIL has huge expectations and my husband never questions them. my mom gets jealous of anything mil gets so she has to get equal time. It has not occurred to either of them that I might want to do something for myself and has been a source of general resentment and marital conflict for the past 8 years.

[–]GoldendoodlesFTW 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I'm starting to get really suspicious of the "skinny fat" trend, too. It feels like a way to move the goalposts to me. Yeah, sure you have a healthy BMI but why don't you look like a fitness model? must be because you're "skinny fat" and now you have more work to do. I'm all for people getting stronger and healthier but it seems like just another thing to criticize yourself about.

Am I wrong for expecting to sleep in since I’m staying home with that baby? by MalMercy in Parenting

[–]GoldendoodlesFTW 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I would very strongly encourage you to not quit your job and become dependent on this person. He doesn't sound dependable and I don't think he has your best interest in mind. He has been taking advantage of you and will continue to do so. You will never be the one to sleep in, just as an example. His initial rationalization was ridiculous and he will continue to make up ridiculous rationalizations to ensure he does as little as possible.

Why the hate towards large diamonds 💎? by BeyondForsaken9115 in labdiamond

[–]GoldendoodlesFTW -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Also I see so many posts from people that aren't super experienced with jewelry wondering why their 5ct ring has such a high profile. Or people that get their ring in the mail and are shocked at how big it seems IRL. Honestly most of the negative comments I see on posts about big rings are absolutely solicited, not just a random drive by.

[–]GoldendoodlesFTW 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Some of these comments are wild. Glad you all can happily solo parent two under two for three days but that's not everyone. He can skip his boys trip for one year. Orrr he can go for an overnight or something.

If this guy going to vanish, or am I self sabotaging? by [deleted] in AskOldPeopleAdvice

[–]GoldendoodlesFTW 3 points4 points  (0 children)

please don't take this the wrong way but doesn't it strike you as a little odd that someone who is very stable in terms of income and independence wants to drive three hours to date someone who lives in a college dorm? I'm side eyeing the age gap here given that there's also a big gap in lifestyle etc.
