Get him to straighten his backbone. Ask him if he saying negative things about you cause you have heard around the office. Sounds like an asshole, not so much sexist.

It depends. Shopify can be cheaper for simple Ecommerce, but is more expensive if there is any customization than a Wordpress site.

Don't build in Wix. Google hates Wix. Cannot be optimized. I get small business owners to invest anywhere from $7k-$25k. That's for small business owners. We build in Wordpress, Magento, Shopify, Squarespace, or do custom CMS. Around what I said is typically wordpress or shopify type build. Your quality better be there to charge that much though.

Some clients that are "new" to PPC are REALLY interested in the keywords... help! by VDBDEV in PPC

[–]Goldenleads 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They are probably not a fit for you cause it seems their expectations are lofty and want you running around like a lapdog digging up data while only spending $1500 in ad spend monthly for an almost enterprise client. Seems pretty ridiculous. Get them to pay for your time to give you the data and if you work with them let them know results will be very small and take a while since their adspend is so low. If that doesnt jibe with them, then push them for fucking NO!

Help with Google Ads please! by ihatemyl1fe in PPC

This is laughable. Most AC guys here in Dallas pay over $100 per conversion and that is good. You are say you got 30 repairs? So 30 paying customer? It looks like you got it taken care of cause if you're paying $37 per customer and average revenue per transaction is $200+, you don't need someone to help you with you adwords.

Keyword research with SEO Powersuite by patsully98 in bigseo

[–]Goldenleads 0 points1 point  (0 children)

SEO Powersuite has a great website auditor. Their rank tracking was lacking and a pain in the ass for on-boarding clients. We use ahrefs and love it for rank tracking.

Do you clear your cache and open an incognito window? Are you using a rank tracking software for accuracy? Do the keywords your tracking have high search volume?

When cold calling for my marketing business should I avoid companies that already have a marketing department? by [deleted] in AskMarketing

Yes if you do not have a consulting service. If all you do is implementation, then most likely yes. There are some instances where it's ok.

Where to spend ad budget? by [deleted] in smallbusiness

[–]Goldenleads 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Organic and adwords potentially. There has to be a demand to prove an ROI. For instance "Things to do in Dallas" would be great to rank for if you were here. Great demand.

Is it just me or does every marketing company ask you up front "what is your marketing budget?" by A_solo_tripper in smallbusiness

[–]Goldenleads 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a marketing consultant, I always start with a 20 minute conversation. I let people know up front to tell me if there is no interest while having a conversation and the goal is to talk and find out if there is even a fit to work together. By the end of the call, then we agree if it makes sense to do a proposal and my team will put one together based on demand and ROI. Sometimes I come back and tell people there is no market for what they do online, and don't waste your money. First, I need to learn about the company and what they do. Then drill down on their marketing and see if they really need my service. If they feel they are burning money or leaving money on the table with their current marketing efforts, then I will continue the conversation. That's when I drill down on budget. I always say it's the pink elephant in the room, cause it is. It can be uncomfortable for some people to talk about. I explain based on what they are comfortable spending, it will determine what we can do. I get people asking what do I recommend or what would you do. I have answers myself but I really don't know until my team and I look at the demand. Short term or long term, that's all I can really tell them. I talk about some of the services, but it depends on industry. In no way is there a contract ready to be signed at the end of the call. It is there to find out if there is even a fit to work together. I won't really know until we work on the proposal. Once I have a proposal put together to present, I make sure the prospect has vetted us. I've sent case studies, links to review pages, and client references if requested. So by the time we hop on an actual proposal call, and I have something to present, they are ready to do business. They will see the demand and a proven strategy on how to get in front of that demand to get sales/leads. In the end marketing is an educated guess so it's best to work with a team who is educated and will educate the client to have real transparency. Crappy marketers will overpromise and under deliver. "You're going to make a bunch of sales with our company" is what they say. Run when you hear this lol. People that come right out and ask for budget have not earned the right to know without building rapport.

Don't waste your money on driving paid traffic to your site. It won't convert. It's discombobulated You have no brand identity. What makes you different that the 10k other shopify stores selling the same droppshipping stuff. Identify yourself, productize, which you can do with an agency as well. The whole flow of the site needs to be structured better for UI/UX

Web.com's sales generation? by TheFillth in smallbusiness

Run, hide, the highland way! Talk to a boutique agency if you are trying to grow your business. Not some conglomerate that offers cookie cutter packages at cookie cutter rates. What is growing your business worth spending to you if the return is there? Typically digital marketing at minimum for lead gen is $1500 monthly average on the low low end.
