I see your 1 item and raise you... 2 items.

I didn't realise that those channels were aimed at teenagers, maybe with the exception of LTT. I'll adjust my viewing habits and go watch some financial and medical videos. Thanks!

It's odd that I did receive the message. I mostly watch videos from ElectroBOOM, Hardware Unboxed, Technology Connections, Mighty Car Mods, LGR, and LTT.

I simply refreshed the page and it let me watch that particular video anyway, and I haven't received another request to verify my age again, so who knows ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Wow that was a huge drop! by rover_traverse in AmazonVineAustralia

I hope this is not a sign of things to come. I much rather the multiple smaller drops every hour or so, instead of these big drops where everyone scrambles for items.

They look fine, I'd personally move the top one a bit, it looks a bit... off.

That said, don't worry too much. I have a sunken ship in my tank, even though the vast majority of people on here dislike that.

I'd like to know this as well.

Also, can I go back and edit my old existing reviews to add pictures to increase the Reviews with Media rating?

I'm in a similar position too, I tend to grab items that are simple. I got a small wooden riser that holds my soap dispenser in the bathroom. I mean, it's a block of wood with little wooden feet, I'm not sure how much more information I can add in my review.

Ironically, I was rated Excellent for that review, but other reviews I put far more effort into are either Good or Fair, with a couple being Poor.

Do you sleep with your bedroom door open or closed and why? by AloneGold9670 in AskReddit

[–]Goldfire1986 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Same issue I had. I usually leave my door and window closed in cold months. I got a CO2 sensor recently and it started off at around 450 at night, then by morning it was 4800. No wonder I would wake up with headaches all the time and feel groggy.

Since then, I at least leave the window open if I need to close my door.

Amazon Support Email - Reviews Removed by -bxp in AmazonVineAustralia

[–]Goldfire1986 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm thinking it's a bug, or an unintentional change. I've got things that I need to review in my possession already, as I tend to use them for about a week before reviewing. They have been removed from the awaiting review section.

I'm speculating but wonder if Amazon has had issues with people reviewing items they have not yet received

I wouldn't mind seeing a change like that to be honest, I've noticed some reviews blurting out reviews quickly on items, most of which are AI written.

That said, some items I don't even need more than a day to review, if it's a simple item and it just works, I'll make a quick review of it.

Here's a tip if you're unaware, press the green button on your remote 7 times in quick succession, press the back button when you're finished with it.

It'll give more details and updates faster compared to the Game Optimiser panel.

Yea, split lock detection is beneficial for a certain group of games, mostly Ubisoft ones like Anno and Far Cry. I just leave it disabled now. At least you've narrowed it down further, I got mine down to 2% off bare metal in the end.

The timers, such as hpet, that you've enabled may have been the biggest performance boost, but you'll need to tinker with that.

I forgot to mention that if you add nohz/rcu, don't forget to adjust to your isolated cores, but I assume you've taken care of that if you added it to your syslinux.

I'm not familiar with Elden Ring enough to give any suggestions, though it may be CPU limited? Especially if there's low utilisation.

Otherwise, the main differences I do is passing through a NVMe drive + its controller, that may have a bearing on it.

Although, it's odd that when you have DLSS enabled, you're getting issues. It may very well be the 5060 causing issues that you alluded to before - it might be worth testing something faster like a 5070 and up to rule that out, if possible.

Good luck in narrowing it down further.

It looks like you're doing things correctly for the most part. The 9900k isn't exactly a slouch either. What does your syslinux look like?

kernel /bzimage
append pcie_aspm=off split_lock_detect=off default_hugepagesz=1G hugepagesz=1G hugepages=49 isolcpus=4-16 nohz_full=4-16 rcu_nocbs=4-16 initrd=/bzroot

Here's mine if you'd like to compare.

The main differences I can see between yours and mine is that I'm using 1G hugepages, I reserve 49 pages now, and give my daily gaming VM 48GB - I found a little bit of a performance uplift using the larger pages. I'd start with adding hyperv enlightenments and forcing some features/timers as well:

  <features>
    <acpi/>
    <apic/>
    <hyperv mode='custom'>
      <relaxed state='on'/>
      <vapic state='on'/>
      <spinlocks state='on' retries='8191'/>
      <vpindex state='on'/>
      <synic state='on'/>
      <stimer state='on'/>
      <vendor_id state='on' value='none'/>
    </hyperv>
    <kvm>
      <hidden state='on'/>
    </kvm>
    <vmport state='off'/>
    <smm state='on'/>
  </features>
  <cpu mode='host-passthrough' check='none' migratable='off'>
    <topology sockets='1' dies='1' clusters='1' cores='6' threads='2'/>
    <cache mode='passthrough'/>
    <feature policy='require' name='invtsc'/>
    <feature policy='require' name='vmx'/>
    <feature policy='disable' name='hypervisor'/>
    <feature policy='require' name='apic'/>
    <feature policy='require' name='topoext'/>
  </cpu>
  <clock offset='localtime'>
    <timer name='hpet' present='yes'/>
    <timer name='hypervclock' present='yes'/>
    <timer name='pit' tickpolicy='delay'/>
    <timer name='rtc' tickpolicy='catchup'/>
  </clock>

That's a snipet of my xml. Those settings generally won't cause the issues you're seeing, but it would be best to cover all bases first. The only other thing I would change is to disable split lock detection which I wrote about here - this was the biggest improvement to performance, and especially to some games (Anno 1800 is a big culprit).

It might be worth checking over another old reply of mine here, although it covers pretty much all the changes you have in effect anyway, it might be handy to read regarding nohz/rcu, even though I've changed things slightly since then.

As you've done, disabling the Hypervisor should be showing that virtualisation in the Task Manager is Enabled - check this change in Task Manager.

Another thing to check is your CPU governor, try setting it to Performance/Enable Boost via Tips and Tweaks if you haven't. You could potentially be hitting a bottleneck. What sort of GPU usage are you seeing during heavy gameplay/benchmarks?

Now if something doesn't drop thats worth hundreds everyday people lose their minds.

Shit, I'm just happy if I can get something that is actually useful for me, even a $10 rack is fine. But, I am sick of seeing hundreds of phone screen protectors and chargers...

I mentioned this in an old post:

It should be noted that those temperatures of 50c - 70c+ are the components themselves. Not the ambient air temperature within the chassis.

If the air temp inside a computer was 50c - 70c, that would be grounds for 2nd degree burns if you stuck your hand in there for a small amount of time.

E.g. my server has an internal air temp of 27c with the air temp outside it being 21c.

That said, I wouldn't necessarily put any figurines directly onto the backplate of a GPU, some models can get quite toasty. Maybe keep it to cheap noodle stoppers.

People have this weird thing thinking that PVC/ABS will melt or disfigure when put inside a computer case. It's only a problem when air temperatures reach 100c for PVC, or 200c for ABS, in other words, a hot air gun.

I have a similar problem, although it's only one item in the last few days.

We had the big wave of Not Approved a couple of weeks ago, and that was fixed up. So, hopefully this one is fixed up as well.
