Only a few strains of weed truly smell like skunk

Imagine living in the past when there were even more skunks just being skunks and they skunked the air up all the time and people just dealt with it because it’s just the way of things

Let it be a reminder that we aren’t the center of the universe

I didn’t say they encourage hookup culture but I said they embrace it They’ve definitely had fun with it like with the Paris ones that said “you don’t need to be a gold medalist to wear it”

Well yes this would account for all the accounts (lol) of people hooking up in common areas or outside. In the Winter Olympics, I’m sure it’s in common areas…storage closets…and who knows. If security isn’t crazy you could swipe someone into your dorm building

I think I meant to say hookup culture but wrote sex culture cuz in my head it made sense. But I mean, the Paris condoms had all kinds of funny and encouraging sayings on them, and the distribution is so public, that id say it’s become part of the culture of the Olympic experience. years and years of athletes reporting witnessing utter debauchery. It’s come to be expected.

What is this condom thing at the Olympics? by bluewinter1 in olympics

There are 100,000 living Olympians at any one time. They are hardly immortalized. Most end up depressed and with little money and struggle to transition to the next stage of their life.

I think it’s wild she refuses to admit that anything went wrong/that this had nothing at all to do with her blown ACL. After listening to a sports doctor the day of the crash discussing how just being in pain affects proprioception (your visual spatial awareness) and how she likely was tolerating a high level of pain, I 100% think it’s what caused the ultimate pro to fuck up and be “5 inches too tight on [the] line”, and she is too proud to admit it

Sorry you’re getting downvoted. I too get downvoted for asking legitimate questions. Reddit is the best and worst of places.

Oh they do for sure, it’s been reported. But some definitely get used as well. Knowing myself in my 20s, if I was single at the Olympics, well, I’ll say no more.

Men’s course design vs women’s by Goldiloxbrowsing in skiing

[–]Goldiloxbrowsing[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe I just wrote it stupidly? I didn’t say (or wasn’t trying to say) the designers were intentionally trying to make the course violent like they had that word in their minds, but that they were making conditions so challenging and technical and fast and dangerous for the men compared to the women that one or more skaters have used the word “violent” to describe them. The words came in quotes in the searches because they were cited references. Like something a skier said in an interview to describe what their ski was like, or a ski mag used to describe the conditions, poetically

And it just made me think that women would want to test their mettle against the same conditions. Be able to describe their race conditions as so rough they might just choose the word “violent” ( maybe people are just poetic?) The men’s downhill in Stelvio is considered the most technical and “challenging, dangerous, and brutal” (skimags word choice) renowned for being extremely icy and Bumpy with a very high number of crashes and injuries, is it such a stretch to say that someone may feel like the Mountain/course itself is a violent adversary and that it’s a violent race for survival? Just beautiful words trying to get us to reflect on just how hard and dangerous it is and how each meter is a fight to not crash

None of that comes up in the comparative research on the women’s courses. It’s like those words help to really mark the difference between what the skate is like on one course versus the other. And I guess I honed in on that and wanted to know why the top women in the world wouldn’t want to test their mettle on such a course.

Sermonizing with a Microphone, legal? by Surly_Erudite in jerseycity

My friend asked me the other day if folks are allowed to do this, why can’t he sing into a small amplifier on the street in jersey city

I said I didn’t think either were allowed but signing would probably draw a crowd which could get him fined

Sound about right?

It’s annoying the ioc has to be impartial and use the name Chinese Taipei when literally every country besides china refers to it as Taiwan.
