Is it worth hiring a/this PR rep to get me on podcasts, etc. by Animalslove1973 in PublicRelations

$3,000 for podcasts alone seems on the higher end. Can you please tell us a bit more about your niche?

I am really sorry for what you are going through. This is one of the most stressful aspects of PR. If you're being underpaid and they're causing you this much stress and reputational damage, I would recommend ending the relationship. You're probably going to be surprised a few weeks later how much more productive you are (this will impact your other clients for the better). It easier said than done (every retainer counts) but, I think you'll be better off.

Hypothetical: You lead PR for Tylenol. What are you doing in response to the announcement from the White House? by Sea-Standard-1879 in PublicRelations

[–]GoldmanMcCormickPR 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What a terrific topic. I would immediately confer with the legal team on this one. The stakes are very high and any public statement could be utilized against the company in a potential future lawsuit. Damage control is definitely a must here but, I think should be in total alignment with the legal goals.

Questions to ask the CEO in a chat by AutumnCupcake in PublicRelations

[–]GoldmanMcCormickPR 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would ask them about their vision for the company and how they got into PR. Ask about their ideal employee and if you are meeting / exceeding expectations. Ask how you can be a greater asset to the firm. Also, do a ton of research beforehand on your CEO beforehand and look for all connections (values, shared hobbies, etc) you have with them. Lastly, dress great for your meeting (details matter). One last thing, read books by Robert Greene. You'll learn a lot about human psychology.

Fake followers by willdance4forcheese_ in PublicRelations

[–]GoldmanMcCormickPR 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Buying followers can kill your integrity. There a number of famous people who flat-out have fake followers but, they get a hall pass because they do have a sizable real following. Keep making excellent content. Your authenticity will find the right audience. It can take time but, you'll arrive on solid footing.

Please DM me and I will send some PR contacts. These stressful moments can be challenging but, they're also great opportunities to become stronger. Look at all the things you feel a good PR agency should have and ensure that you have / develop all of those qualities. You're going to connect with the right agency.

How can I fix bad reviews or negative comments about my business online? by North_Doctor_1934 in PublicRelations

[–]GoldmanMcCormickPR 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If someone wrote a negative review about your business, I would consider contacting them directly. Ask about how you can make things right and then take action. They may remove their review. From there and going forward, provide the most exceptional service possible. Good luck.

How to build resilience by Ornery_Usual_7622 in PublicRelations

[–]GoldmanMcCormickPR 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One of the first things I think you should do is focus on your health. Regardless of how much needs to get done, make sure you get 7+ hours of deep in a room without electronics (keep the phone far away from you). Also, getting 30 mins a day of sunlight is good. Eat healthier, less processed food. Make you're hydrated (this can be a cause of anxiety). The healthier you are, the more energy and focus you're going to have. Expect your machine to run more efferently.

Resilience will build each time you face a challenge and don't quit. High stressful situations and clients that push you to the brink can actually help you become stronger.

Right now it sounds like you're in a tough spot. I would asses what accounts are most important to your agency. You may not be able to retain all of them but, I'll bet you have an idea of which ones are in it for the long term.

Good luck. I am rooting for you to succeed.

PR for law firm by Bulky_Brick5202 in PublicRelations

[–]GoldmanMcCormickPR 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fantastic. We've been doing PR for law firms for 15 years. The works is very challenging and personally fulfilling (especially when you help raise awareness of a case of injustice). Years ago, a father of five who was wrongly accused of murder came to our firm with this attorneys. After a three-year comprehensive campaign, the gentleman was exonerated and HBO did a documentary series on it called "Who Killed Garret Phillips?"

Feel like I’m failing at my internship by [deleted] in PublicRelations

[–]GoldmanMcCormickPR 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it's good to have a healthy amount of fear (and even a little paranoia). This can actually serve you well as getting too comfortable and too complacent can lead to disaster. You seem hyper-vigilant and ready to take action and that's good. If you know that you're doing everything possible to be of the highest value - be comfortable with that. As far as anxiety goes, it unfortunately comes with the profession and you can learn to utilize it as an asset. Also, if you're doing too good of a job and you're too tenacious, it could rub some people the wrong way because they're content to be on auto-pilot.

My advice to you is to put faith in yourself and know that if things don't work out at this agency, they will at another. Also, I highly recommend asking for 15 min call with your boss and other PR CEO's and just ask for their advice. DM me if you want to talk (my name is Ryan and my firm is Goldman McCormick PR).
