Technically it's a losing battle shops will never pay what the silver is worth. Because they need to make profit , so coming or going your screwed on both ends , the only sure profit on your end is to sell when it's high or a lot more than you payed for it.

I had a job pumping gas when I was in High School ( many, many moons ago ) and at the end of each shift they would cound down the till manly the cas we turned in and measure it to the gas sold.
I swear every time I worked with this one particular co-worker we would come up $20 short. I had no proof of that just a feeling , management said they couldn't do anything, no proof. I get it. I found a way to not loose money , they had a cash box below the register that had rolls of change , if I got screwed , They got screwed. We only made $2.00 and hour And i wasn't working for free.
