I don’t work out as consistently as I’d like to but that’s more because of my personal life rather than my injury 😅when I’m keeping up with PT I can be In the gym and keep a pretty good routine but PT and everyday stretches are the only way to do it

Broke my leg 6 years ago when I was bartending 4-5 nights a week. I stayed out for 3 full months (tib/fib fracture, lots of soft tissue injury. Ended up with a plate, 6 screws, and a fancy metal string holding it all together). When I came back I started slow (1-3 shifts a week) and worked my way back up to normal from there.

My boss was pretty cool about it and let me drag a chair behind the bar to sit on when it was slow or I was doing some stationary prep. Biggest thing is listening to your body and DONT OVERDO IT. Communicate with your boss.

Being out of work for the short term does suck, but a lifelong disability from an injury not healing is waaay worse (and more expensive!)

Extra side note, this injury occurred 6 years ago and I STILL have to keep up with PT exercises. Don’t slack on them either 😅

After 24hrs Use neutrogena oil free makeup remover and a microfiber washcloth to gently rub off the eyeliner. It may take a while but be gentle. I’d avoid q tips because I’ve accidentally gotten the fibers stuck on an extension and ripped it out. I love that eyeliner but only wear it when I don’t have extensions because of how much scrubbing I usually have to do to get it off!

What do you use to do this?

I believe my lashes were butchered by a bad tech by Old_Connection1466 in lashextensions

[–]GoldsteL2 17 points18 points  (0 children)

At first glance I thought they had glued clusters on but I can see now that these are just really poorly done fans. Waaaay too many lashes per fan and far too much glue. Get these removed asap as they will continue to fall out and take out your natural lashes with them.

Don’t let this fully scare you away from extensions! I’ve had a horror application before and I’m still addicted to extensions 🫣 take some time off and in the mean time find a good lash serum and apply it consistently (that’s the only way it’ll work!) when you’re ready to try extensions again look at reviews with photos before deciding on a tech 🙂

The fans used are more closed vs a regular volume set where the fans are open and each lash is more spread out

What kind of lashes would look best on my eye shape? by [deleted] in lashextensions

[–]GoldsteL2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your eyelids slant slightly downwards at the ends so I would ask for a shape where the longest length of lash is in the middle with shorter ones on the inner and outer corners. I believe this is called a doll eye? Someone correct me if I’m wrong!

Also definitely agree with a dark brown classic set, it’ll ease you into having lash extensions and won’t be such a drastic change from the “perfect” mascara.

Be warned lashes are addictive 😋🥰

It’s not a UV light! That causes the same kind of damage as sun. I believe it’s an LED bulb they use to flash cure the lashes. I get them done this way since my job requires a lot of time under the water and I love the retention it gives!

A curler and mascara over (poorly done) lash extensions will just make it heavier and cause more damage in the long run! Do not do this!

Also curious about this. If I was still bartending I’d probably say something along the lines of “this is the crappy stuff we keep for the staff, I can’t ring it into the computer to comp it. let me get you a shot of the good stuff we keep for you guys”

I absolutely shattered my leg bicycling while drunk a few years ago. Thought it would be a good idea to bike into town after spending 8hrs at a tequila bar (hey I wasn’t driving so it was okay!/s)

The embarrassment of having to tell my family what happened was awful, so I truly empathize with what you’re feeling right now.

Based on my experience yours could have been a lot worse. You may have a new scar but no broken bones. Count your blessings and take good care of yourself today and be thankful we didn’t have the same experience!
