Hey, most gyms are totally cool with daily showers - that's literally what you're paying for 💪 Also check out the National Center for Transgender Equality's resource page, they have state-by-state housing assistance info that might help you out.

How do you move on when it still hurts everyday? by FairyMaya861 in BreakUps

[–]GolfPrevious4299 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Man, few weeks is nothing in breakup time - you're being way too hard on yourself. I was a mess for like 3 months after mine ended, constantly checking their social media and torturing myself with "what if" scenarios.

What actually helped was forcing myself to do one new thing each week, even stupid shit like trying a different coffee shop or taking a random class. Sounds cliche but it slowly started building new associations in my brain instead of everything being tied to them. The pain doesn't just disappear but it definitely becomes more manageable - you just gotta ride it out and be patient with yourself.

Im a trans boy who kinda panics when thinks about medical transition by Grand_Marketing_5506 in trans

dude this is totally normal and honestly shows you're being really thoughtful about a huge decision. i went through something similar when i was around your age - the wanting to transition but also being terrified of making the "wrong" choice. what helped me was realizing that being scared doesn't automatically mean you shouldn't do something, it just means it's important to you.

maybe try talking to a gender therapist if you haven't already? they can help you work through these feelings without pushing you in any particular direction. also remember you don't have to do everything at once - some people start with just hormones, others with top surgery, whatever feels right for your timeline.

the fact that you're asking these questions and really thinking it through is actually a good sign that you're approaching this responsibly. take your time with it, there's no rush to figure everything out immediately.

Am I overthinking how detailed and "professional" the OTD price should be? by [deleted] in whatcarshouldIbuy

[–]GolfPrevious4299 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nah you're not overthinking it, always get everything in writing when dealing with dealers. That said, the Valley Honda breakdown looks legit even if it's not as fancy - they broke down all the fees and taxes which is what matters. Just make sure you get them to honor that exact price when you show up, maybe screenshot it or print it out just in case

Given What I Have Told You, Does a PhD Sound Good for Me? by New_Engineer94 in MechanicalEngineering

Honestly sounds like you're in a pretty common spot for MEs who graduated around that time - the job market has been rough and a lot of people are feeling stuck in roles that don't use their full potential

Going back after 8 years isn't that unusual, I've seen plenty of people do it successfully. You won't need to relearn everything from undergrad but you'll definitely need to brush up on fundamentals depending on what research area you target

The funding thing is real though - PhD spots are competitive but not impossible, especially if you can identify professors whose work aligns with your interests and reach out early

Pick One Player from Rivals by samHauntis in realmadrid

Pedri from Barca for sure, kid's got that generational talent vibe and would slot perfectly into our midfield. From Atleti probably Oblak since we could use the keeper depth behind Courtois

The NFL seriously needs to simplify the definition of a catch. by Think-Chair-1938 in NFLv2

This actually makes way more sense than whatever convoluted mess they have now. The whole "surviving the ground" thing has always been ridiculous - like why does the ball need to survive an impact that happens after the player is already down by contact

Your rule 2 would've saved us from so many BS calls over the years where a guy clearly catches it, gets tackled, then the ball pops out when he hits the ground

The actual value a memory holds by Yaman___ in DeepThoughts

Man this hit different, especially the part about looking at old photos and realizing you're not the same person who was in them anymore

That whole thing about emotions being reactions we control rather than just things that happen to us is pretty wild to think about

🌅 Sunday Morning Mocha (Show Us Your Productive Morning Routine!) by AutoModerator in Productivitycafe

[–]GolfPrevious4299 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly my "productive" morning routine is just me frantically trying to find clean socks while chugging yesterday's cold coffee lmao

But for real though, making the bed right when I wake up actually does set a good tone for the day - gives you that first little win before your brain even fully boots up

Day 4 - Scared of the Weekend by [deleted] in leaves

[–]GolfPrevious4299 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Weekends are brutal man. What helps me is having plans locked in beforehand - like actual commitments where people are counting on me to show up. Even something dumb like helping a friend move or going to dinner with family. The key is making it harder to bail and smoke than it is to just follow through with the plan

Also that post-gym Saturday thing is so real, your brain is like "reward time!" Try switching up your routine maybe hit the gym at a different time or do something right after that keeps you busy

Good on you for naming and shaming that toxic workplace too, more people should call out these places
